“Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return To Hogwarts”

How often have you wanted to return to Hogwarts and spend time with Harry, Hermione, Ron and the other delightful characters written beautifully by J. K. Rowling?

In 2011, before the release of the last Harry Potter movie, YouGov America reported that 18 percent of those surveyed had read all the Harry Potter books. And 31 percent had read at least one book.

The story of Harry Potter is over with the disintegration of Voldemort in the last book and movie. We can still appreciate the seven books and eight movies by re-reading and re-watching the telling of a fantastic story.

Perhaps that is why HBOMax brings us Harry Potter’s 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts on New Year’s Day. Viewers watch as actors reminisce about working on one of the world’s finest movie franchises.

“The Laundromat” Images and Clips

THE LAUNDROMAT

The Laundromat follows Ellen Martin, played by Meryl Streep, as her idyllic vacation necessitates an unbelievable twist when she investigates a fake insurance policy, only to find herself down a rabbit hole of questionable dealings linked to a Panama City law firm, and its vested interest in helping the world’s wealthiest citizens amass even larger fortunes.

THE LAUNDROMAT

The charming, and very well-dressed, founding partners Jürgen Mossack, played by Gary Oldman, and Ramón Fonseca, played by Antonio Banderas, are experts in the seductive ways of shell companies and offshore accounts help the rich and powerful prosper.

THE LAUNDROMAT

They are about to show us that Ellen’s expose only hints at the tax evasion, bribery, and other illicit absurdities that the super-wealthy indulge in to support the world’s corrupt financial system.

The movie clip shows the theme of the movie, and it is a comedy with a sense of hilarity in the two men talking to the camera while Streep talks about corruption.

The next movie clip explains Martin’s goal and purpose for exposing these to con artists.

“Hunter Killer” Trailer, Movie Clip, and Posters

Directed by Donovan Marsh, Hunter Killer is a movie that has the potential to be great. Though, Marsh directorial credits are limited to such movies as Spud and Spud 2. The Spud movies are a far cry from an action thriller as any director can get.

Hunter Killer is based on a story that comes from a novel of the same name written by Don Keith and George Wallace. The screenplay is by Jamie Moss and Arnie Schmidt.

The “Joe Glass” movie clip shows how the movie is filmed to create intensity. Here we have Common and Gary Oldman going at it to move the story along.

The movie is a contemporary story about an unproven American submarine captain, played by Gerard Butler. The captain teams with U.S. Navy Seals to rescue the Russian president, who has been kidnapped by a corrupted general.

The final poster reminds of the original poster for the movie The Hunt for Red October starring Sean Connery and Alex Baldwin. It’s a great movie and highly, highly recommend you see it.

Gary Oldman is in Hunter Killer, but the studio is hush-hush about his role in the movie. The other cast members are Caroline Goodall, John Taylor Smith, and Common.

The second trailer tells us more about the story and each role the actor plays.  Comparing it to the first trailer, it looks like there is a lot more going on than I thought.

You need to watch the trailer because your juices will get pumped.
