“Alien: Romulus” Trailer

Fede Alvarez directed Alien: Romulus, a film about a group of young people from a distant world who come face-to-face with the most terrifying life form in the universe. Dan O’Bannon, Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues wrote the script. Ridley Scott, the original director of the Alien franchise, produced the movie.

The first trailer is six seconds over one minute, so it doesn’t tell us much. We hear screaming and see a bloodbath and aliens. Alvarez reportedly said the story takes place between the Alien and Aliens movies.

Historically, Romulus was the creator and initial king of Rome. He’s also known for having a twin brother, Remus. Mythology surrounds Romain history at this time with unclear events and institutions.

The cast of Alien: Romulus includes Isabela Merced, Cailee Spaeny, Archie Renaux and David Jonsson.

Films directed by Fede Alvarez:

Evil Dead

Don’t Breathe

The Girl in the Spider’s Web

“Lightyear” Disney and Pixar Go Beyond Infinity

Directed by Angus MacLane, Lightyear is part of the Toy Story series. Chris Evans voices Buss Lightyear. The franchise’s popularity sparks a space ranger to the front as the cadet goes to infinity and… beyond. China’s talented Mu Le’en also stars.

I saw a post on Facebook, so it might not be accurate. That said, the story is about the hero, Lightyear. Thus, the Lightyear toy became a product.

Chaos Walking

“Chaos Walking” Ridley and Holland Star, Trust and Relationships

Chaos Walking

Directed by Doug Liman from the best-selling young adult novel The Knife of Never Letting Go, Chaos Walking starts in the distant future. Todd Hewitt, played by Tom Holland, befriends Viola, played by Daisy Ridley. She is a mysterious girl who crash-landed on his planet, where all the women have disappeared and are afflicted with “the Noise,” which forces men to display their thoughts.

In this dangerous landscape threatened by her life, Todd vows to protect Viola. He will have to discover his inner power and unlock the planet’s dark secrets.

I am not sure which book of the trilogy the movie follows. Some say it’s a combination of two of the books. Another exciting aspect when comparing the book and the film is that Viola and Todd are 12 years old in the first book, while the film has them as adults.

The film is streaming on Amazon so that you can watch it. These two actors are talented, but the storyline, I’m sorry to say, didn’t capture the audience.

Liman also directed suspense thrillers The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow. The movie also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Demián Bichir, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Jonas, Kurt Sutter, and David Oyelowo.

“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” Trailer, Clips, Featurettes, TV Spot & Interview

I am so excited that J.J. Abrams is returning to direct the final chapter of the saga from a galaxy far, far away.

The standard cast is returning with some new faces, including Lupita Nyong’o, Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, Keri Russell, Adam Driver, Billy Dee Wiliams, and the late Carrie Fisher.

Abrams also co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Terrio, and there appears to be a new Droid.

The red carpet interview with producer Kathleen Kennedy reveals the franchise hasn’t finished yet. Still, the other red carpet interviews with J.J. Abrams and stars talk about this being the last movie of the nine Star Wars movies.

Star Wars is a big box office winner. I side with Kennedy. The space opera stories must continue even if the next one starts with a different group of characters.

The “Special Look” shows the Star Wars past and the movie’s ending. In the middle, we see C-3PO with red eyes. At the end of the footage, we see Rey (or is it Rey) on the Darkside.

The third trailer shows a lot happening in the final movie. All of it is exciting.

Here is a TV spot and yes it advertises to purchase your advance tickets. Not a bad idea considering it will sell out in some locations. The TV spot does offer some clues to the story and new footage. Enjoy!

The Star Wars Culture featurette says it all.

The next featurette is fabulous. Enjoy!

The movie is about legends.

Funny scene, yes, “They fly now.”

“Alien: Covenant” Trailer and Clips

With Alien: Covenant, a new chapter in his groundbreaking Alien franchise, Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise and a dark, dangerous world. They must attempt a harrowing escape when they uncover a threat beyond their imagination.

This movie roars. Yikes!

Here is a nice long clip called The Last Supper. I was surprised to see James Franco. He is the captain, too. There are some other familiar faces. Check it out.

“Passengers” Trailer, Poster, Movie Clips

passengers-posterDirected by Morten Tyldum, Passengers follows Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in an exciting action-thriller about two passengers on a 120-year journey to another planet when their hibernation pods wake them 90 years too early.

Jim and Aurora come to terms of being forced to unravel the mystery behind the malfunction as the ship teeters on the brink of collapse, with the lives of thousands of passengers in jeopardy.

This clip is amazing. I love the swimsuit.

This clip is intense, so I am guessing this is an action science fiction movie. I speculate that the bad guy is the spacecraft.

“Life” Trailers, Super Bowl Ad, and Clips

Life tells the story of the International Space Station’s six-member crew is at the groundbreaking of one of the most important discoveries in human history. They discover the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew conducts research, their methods end up having unplanned consequences, and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.

Directed by Swedish filmmaker Daniel Espinosa and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson, Ryan Reynolds, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ariyon Bakare, and Olga Dihovichnaya.

This clip is intense. It will get your blood boiling.

Here is the Super Bowl Ad.
