I Feel Pretty Trailer, Movie Clip, Poster & Blu-ray/DVD

In the musical Westside Story, Stephen  Sondheim’s lyrical song “I Feel Pretty” is sung while Maria fancies herself with a new dress, “I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty, I feel pretty and witty and bright! And I pity any girl who isn’t me tonight.”

Written and directed by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, I Feel Pretty is far from anything like Maria’s song. The story follows Renee Barrett, played by Amy Schumer, who doesn’t feel pretty at first, nor look like the ingenue in a Sondheim musical.

Yet, Renne struggles with insecurity because she is not the perfect woman according to her own measures.

Like a Hans Christian Anderson fairytale, she wakes from a fall believing she is the most beautiful and capable woman on the planet. Her new confidence empowers her to live fearlessly. Watch the movie trailer and you will see how fearlessly she lives.  So as the old saying goes, “Is beauty only skin deep?”

The key point of the fairy tale is what happens when she realizes her appearance never changed?

The Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming are happening now.  If you haven’t seen this yet, you can catch it at Amazon.

A cute clip about being pretty from the inside out.

The movie also stars some stellar talent  Michelle WilliamsEmily Ratajkowski, Tom Hopper, and Lauren Hutton.

“Venom” Trailers and Posters

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, who helmed movies like Zombieland and Gangster Squad, the movie’s storyline took some time to become fully available. The overall story is amazing with Tom Hardy adding his dynamic talent. You can watch the trailer and get a feel for what is happening in Venom.  Each trailer gradually tells about the story, and it is cool to watch as it unfolds.

You might recall Venom in the Spider-man comics. Comic book fans will tell you that Venom arrived on the streets in 1993 with Lethal Protector. David Micheline wrote the limited series and Mark Bagley, Ron Lim, and Sam DeLarosa designed the art.

In the comic book story, it is understood that Venom turns into a complete anti-hero. Heading to San Francisco, Venom and Spider-man team up and fight some villains.  My curiosity wanted to know if the movie followed the comic books. After watching the movie trailer, I doubted it, which was correct.

The first poster from the top shows a sinister and very dark character. The second poster shows Tom Hardy’s transformation. The movie is streaming now or available on Blu-ray and DVD.

One thing is for sure, the movie is about one of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and distinctly threatening superheroes to ever come to the comic world. Hardy stars as the destructive protector called Venom.

Michelle Williams, and Riz Ahmed star alongside Brady. At what capacity their roles are, there is no word as of yet, though in the trailer there is an indication Williams plays a former girlfriend. It seems the overall storyline is hush-hush, which is written by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner, and Kelly Marcel.

The fourth trailer is three minutes long with a full-length frame of Venom. He is wicked and totally anti-superhero.

The second trailer is scary, like a horror movie.  Tom Hardy is good as the reluctant anti-hero.  The Venom looks a lot like the alien in Aliens. I just don’t like that tongue.

“Spinning Man” Trailer, Poster, Featurettes, Clip

Directed by Simon Kaijser, Spinning Man is based on the book of the same name by George Harrar adapted for the screen by Matt Aldrich. The move follows Evan Birch, played by Guy Pearce. He is a family man and esteemed professor at a distinguished college, where his charm and reputation have made his philosophy class very popular.

When a female student named Hannah, played by Jamie Kennedy, goes missing, Evan’s previous off-campus dalliances make his wife, played by Minnie Driver, question his alibi.

Gruff police Detective Malloy, played by Pierce Brosnan, has even more reason to be suspicious when crucial evidence makes Evan the prime suspect in Hannah’s disappearance. Suddenly, the questions Evan comes to grip with aren’t merely academic – they’re a matter of life or death.

The movie trailer is tight and suspenseful, and I keep wondering what happened to the student. It appears in the 100-minute movie there is a twist at the end of a storyline about examining a crime, punishment, and conscience undertones.

I have a feeling Brosnan is going to steal the show. He has developed into quite an actor. He was amazing in the  Only Boy in New York. The movie also stars Clark Gregg, Odeya Rush, Alexandra Shipp, and Freya Tingley.

This clip seems like they shouldn’t worry, but they sure seem worried.

This movie clip gets intense and he sure seems guilty.

In Part 1 of the Featurette Brosnan and Driver talk about when they worked together on Brosnan’s first James Bond Movie.

In Part 2, the Featurette is filled with the actors talking about working with the director. The director, Simon Kaijser, talks about working with the story and actors.

“Detective Chinatown 2” Trailer and Poster

Directed by Sicheng Chen and following a huge success from the original Detective Chinatown, which holds the ninth place as the highest grossing film in China, we meet, once again, the madcap buddies Qin, played by Haoran Liu, and Tang, played by Baoqing Wang. Detective Chinatown 2 is just as hilarious.

They take a transatlantic trip to New York City. Qin ends up in a global detective contest with a large cash prize. The task contest requires him to locate the grandson of the godfather of Chinatown. Qin and Tang become the ‘Detective Chinatown Duo’ hot on the trail until the missing person case becomes a murder case.

Watch the video and you will see some funny antics. Chen has impeccable comedic timing. It’s just belly roll of laughter after belly roll of laughter.

Promising But Unusual “Life is a Party” Trailer

Directed by Ben Falcone and co-written with the star Melissa McCarthy, we follow a typical storyline of a fish out of water theme that turns for the best, and everyone learns to be a better person. The plus point is that we get to laugh along the way. Watch the Life is a Party trailer and see McCarthy completely blow herself up, funny visual.

Her husband unexpectedly dumps her, as a longtime dedicated housewife, Deanna turns regret into changing her life for the best. She goes back to college – landing in the same class and school as her daughter is not in her favor or entirely sold on the idea.

Plummeting headlong into the campus experience and even making out with a college boy in the library, the increasingly outspoken Deanna — now Dee Rock — embraces freedom, fun, and frat boys. But, it is on her terms, finding her true self by becoming a college senior and taking the chances she never took before when she should have taken them – her life might have turned out different.

The movie also stars Debby Ryan and Gilliam Jacobs.

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” Trailers, Featurettes, Interview, and Posters

Directed by Ron Howard, we learn about the early years of one of Star Wars most beloved heroes – Hans Solo.  Plenty of posters, movie clips, featurettes, and trailers are posted here for you to peruse. You can start with the teaser trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The movie boards the Millennium Falcon and journeys to a galaxy far, far away in an all-new adventure with the one of the most known about scoundrel in the galaxy. The movie is a story about Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich, at the beginning of his adventures in Star Wars.

The Blu-ray and DVD are on the streets with streaming available as well. Check out the trailer promoting the next phase of seeing Solo: The Star Wars Story.

Remember, the special featurettes will be worth the purchase.

I am looking forward to having this movie package as part of my personal library.  The Star Wars franchise is such a pleasure and exciting part of the entertainment industry.

Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo befriends his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, played by Donald Glover. The story will set the course for one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

The screenplay is written by Lawrence Kasdan and his son, Jon Kasdan, which means it will be a great story.  Senior Kasdan is very familiar with the Star Wars series.  He wrote Empires Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Force Awakens.

The also stars Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Paul Bettany.

The next featurette came out the day of the US opening night. It offers even more information about the characters and the story.

I am posting Ron Howard’s interview because he articulates the story and cinematic approach to making a movie about Han Solo. He talks about working with George Lucas and the production team.

Becoming Solo featurette tells a bit more about the story in terms of the Empire.

Here is a super cool tour of the Falcon. Donald Glover is the tour guide.

The second trailer tells more of the story, and it appears Han Solo gets involved with some ruffians.

“Skyscraper” Posters, TV Spot, Featurette, and Trailers

Written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, Skyscraper follows former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Sawyer, played by Dwayne Johnson. Sawyer’s job is to assess security for skyscrapers.

Skyscraper

He is on an assignment in China. The story is not clear if he is assessing the tallest, safest building in the world or just visiting when suddenly it’s ablaze—framed for causing it to catch fire.

Sawyer becomes a wanted man on the run. He must find those responsible for the fire to clear his name. At the same time, he has to figure out someway how to rescue his family trapped inside the building above the fire line.

The movie is available on Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming. So, if you haven’t seen it yet, now you can unless you’ve seen it and want to see it again.

Universal Pictures released the movie as a 3D action-thriller. The list of producers is long, and they are all connected to making action-thrillers like San Andreas, Pirates of the Caribbean series, and Kong: Skull Island.

The third movie trailer tells more about the story, and the intensity of the circumstances Johnson’s character confronts.

The featurette offers a bit more information about Johnson’s character while learning more about the special effects.

The second trailer explains the storyline more, and we see more action and stunts happening in the movie.

Here is the trailer, which pretty much tells you the story.  It looks like a lot of action and CGI.

Here is the TV Spot. The poster shows a man leaping from one skyscraper to the next. So, it looks pretty action-packed.  Also, starring with Johnson is Neve Campbell, Chin Han, Noah Taylor, Roland Møller, Byron Mann, Pablo Schreiber, and Hannah Quinlivan.

“Game Night” Trailer

Co-directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, Game Night is a hilarious movie that follows a group of friends with a standard get-together for game nights. Games consist of charades, board games or whatever the host provides. The group finds themselves trying to solve a murder mystery after one of the hosts, played by Kyle Chandler, takes the game up a notch. The game becomes real, and it is just not for fun anymore.

Writer Mark Perez crafts a brilliant, clever story that takes the cat-and-mouse theme to a new level. Rachal Adams and Jason Bateman are still the show in the movie trailer. I recommend you watch it. You’ll have great laughs, and it will lift your spirits.

Tom Cruise in “Mission Impossible: Fallout” Posters, Trailers, TV Spot, Featurettes

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible—Fallout follows Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt once again. The story is about how the best intentions often come back to haunt you.

The movie finds Hunt and his IMF team, played by Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames, along with some familiar allies, played by Rebecca Ferguson and Michelle Monaghan, in a race against time after a mission gone wrong.

Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby also join the dynamic cast, and filmmaker McQuarrie returns to direct his second Mission: Impossible movie.

The next poster is called “Sunburst.” The colors and characters let us know we are in for an adventure.

The poster says it all. Certainly, Ethan Hunt will work with his team to save the world from malevolence. The stellar cast is phenomenal, something to look forward to seeing in the movie theater.

The featurette talks about Cruise’s stunts and shows footage we haven’t seen yet.

The following trailer tells us about the story, filled with action, Tom Cruise stunts, and the bad guys.

I watched Top Gun the other night. Tom Cruise made that movie great. He is such a brilliant actor—and cute, too! Here, he is performing another impossible stunt.

Aerial Featurette is fantastic, with Tom Cruise flying the helicopter and doing spirals.

The movie trailer is fantastic, pure entertainment.

The TV Spot is shorter but fine.

“The Hurricane Heist” Trailers, Superbowl TV Spot, Blu-ray/DVD

Directed by Rob  Cohn, who brought us The Fast and Furious, The Hurricane Heist follows treasury agent Casy, played by Maggie Grace, as she works with Will, played by Toby Kebbell and his former Marine brother, played by Ryan Kwanten,  to survive a Category 5 hurricane and stop a  team of tech masterminds from stealing $600 million making it the biggest heist ever achieved.

The Blu-ray and DVD hit the streets. If you haven’t seen it yet, now is your chance.

The Blu-ray/DVD special features include deleted scenes, “The Eye of the Storm” featurette, “Hollywood Heist: A Conversation with Rob Cohen” featurette, VFX reel, and audio commentary with director Rob Cohen.

The Superbowl TV Spot just came out for everyone to see. The movie looks intense in this ad.

The movie trailer is intense but that is all the visuals I have right now.
