“Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” Trailers, Featurette & Posters

Directed by David Leitch, the next franchise installment brings us the first stand-alone sequel as Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham reprise their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.

The movie is available streaming, Blu-ray, or DVD.

Hobbs and Shaw heaved blows at each other since they first appeared in the franchise together in 2015. Hobbs being the loyal agent and Shaw the outcast bent on breaking the law.

But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton, played by Idris Elba, gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever — and bests a brilliant and fearless .rogue MI6 agent, played by Vanessa Kirby, who is Shaw’s sister.

The movie boasts international-globe crossing adventure with a new flair for the Fast & Furious diehard fans.

Leitch directed Deadpool 2 and took the script from longtime Fast & Furious screenwriter. The movie looks to be another hit at the box office. Helen Mirren also stars, and her interview is next.

Helen Mirren plays Shaws’ mother.

The second trailer puts us right into the action and destruction with unbelievable, and crazy, wild stunts.

The featurette explains Hobbs’ brothers and what it means to Johnson.

“Fighting With My Family” Trailer, Clips, Interviews with Paige

Written and directed by Stephen Merchant, Fighting With My Family is based on a true story. The movie follows WWE Superstar Paige, played by Florence Plugh, whose family is tight-knit about wrestling.

Paige and her brother Zak, played by Jack Lowden, are ecstatic when they get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to try out for WWE.

Paige earns a spot, and her brother didn’t win a place. She begins the competitive training program and leaves her family. She faces the new, cut-throat world alone.

Paige’s journey pushes her to dig deep, fight for her family, and ultimately prove to the world that what makes her different is the very thing that can make her a star.

Merchant is best known for his work as a screenwriter for television. He wrote quite a bit for the popular series The Office

The casting includes Lena Headey, Nick Frost, Vince Vaughn, and Dwayne Johnson.

The two movie clips give a feel for what to expect from the movie. Comedy is one of them because I don’t believe “The Rock” is like he is portrayed in the film. Unless I am wrong, which I am known to be from time to time.

The extended movie clip is no longer available. It showed how a WWE celebrity made it into the arena and became famous. From what I see, so far, I like it. The pace is a bit slow, but it’s funny. The movie is now available on Blu-ray/DVD or streaming. If you are a WWE fan, you need to see this movie or see it again.

Paige shares moments when she first met Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. She talks about WWE and her family and how that relates to the movie.

The second interview with Paige is at The Sundance Film Festival screening. She is more down-to-earth and seems more relaxed and approachable. Her endearing persona shines through to us, though the interview is much shorter.

“The Underdog Story” featurette shows a great movie. We get the jokes, the angst, and the competition.

Here is the final trailer, and it is a bit raunchy but funny.

Here is another clip of the famous phone call to Paige’s family. It shows how crazy her family gets sometimes.

“Skyscraper” Posters, TV Spot, Featurette, and Trailers

Written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, Skyscraper follows former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Sawyer, played by Dwayne Johnson. Sawyer’s job is to assess security for skyscrapers.

Skyscraper

He is on an assignment in China. The story is not clear if he is assessing the tallest, safest building in the world or just visiting when suddenly it’s ablaze—framed for causing it to catch fire.

Sawyer becomes a wanted man on the run. He must find those responsible for the fire to clear his name. At the same time, he has to figure out someway how to rescue his family trapped inside the building above the fire line.

The movie is available on Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming. So, if you haven’t seen it yet, now you can unless you’ve seen it and want to see it again.

Universal Pictures released the movie as a 3D action-thriller. The list of producers is long, and they are all connected to making action-thrillers like San Andreas, Pirates of the Caribbean series, and Kong: Skull Island.

The third movie trailer tells more about the story, and the intensity of the circumstances Johnson’s character confronts.

The featurette offers a bit more information about Johnson’s character while learning more about the special effects.

The second trailer explains the storyline more, and we see more action and stunts happening in the movie.

Here is the trailer, which pretty much tells you the story.  It looks like a lot of action and CGI.

Here is the TV Spot. The poster shows a man leaping from one skyscraper to the next. So, it looks pretty action-packed.  Also, starring with Johnson is Neve Campbell, Chin Han, Noah Taylor, Roland Møller, Byron Mann, Pablo Schreiber, and Hannah Quinlivan.

“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” Trailers and Vignette

Directed by Jake Kasdan, son of Lawrence Kasdan (Body Heat), who also directed Bad Teacher, Zero Effect, and Sex Tape, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle follows a breakfast club theme where four teenagers end up as avatars in the Jumanji game.

The teenagers discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan.  Nick Jonas plays one on the teenagers. The trailer is fun to watch since the avatars are against type.

What teenagers discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji –Jumanji plays you. They’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever. If you haven’t seen the first Jumanji, then you wouldn’t know how to play the game.

I have to mention the first move because it is awesome and still available with Robin Williams and Kirsten Dunst starring.

The newest poster is funnier. It really shows the characters. This could be a fun movie because giving it a Christmas release date shows the studios are banking on it being successful at the box office.  But, box office success doesn’t always mean a fun movie.

“The Fate of the Furious” Trailer

Directed by F. Gary Gray, The Fate of the Furious begins where Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon, and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew—exonerated, the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman, played by Charlize Theron, seduces Dom into the world of crime, he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos the world’s stage… and to bring home the man who made them a family.

Also joining Vin Diesel is a returning all-star cast that includes Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky, and Kurt Russell. Besides Theron, the series welcomes newcomers Scott Eastwood and Helen Mirren.

Another exceptional trailer that I like.

The Super Bowl Ad is an entire minute.

“Baywatch” Trailer

Directed by Seth Gordon, Baywatch follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon, played by Dwayne Johnson, as he butts heads with a brash recruit, played by Zac Efron. Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.

I never watched the TV Show, and I don’t think I will see the movie. Still, I wonder why are the men clad more than the women.
