“Hard Luck Love Song” Innovative Crime Thriller

In this modern-day gritty love story, directed by Justin Corsbie, Hard Luck Song follows Jesse, played by Michael Dorman. The movie inspiration comes from Todd Snider’s seminal Americana hit, “Just Like Old Times.”

Jesse is a charismatic but down on his luck troubadour living out of cheap motels and making bad decisions. Jesse finds himself at an existential crossroads during a chance encounter with Carla, played by Sophia Bush, an old flame, as their complicated past and current troubles threaten to destroy their blissful reunion.

Watch Dermot Mulroney in the trailer. He’s hardly recognizable. The cast also includes RZA, Brian Sacca, Melora Walters and Eric Roberts.

Nobody

“Nobody” Unlock Absolutely Lowest Unconditional Hatred

Directed by Ilya Naishuller, Nobody follows Hutch Mansell, played by Bob Odenkirk. He’s an underestimated and overlooked dad and husband who takes life’s indignities on the chin and never pushes back — a nobody.

When two thieves break into his suburban home one night, Hutch declines to defend himself or his family, hoping to prevent serious violence. His teenage son, Blake, played by Gage Munroe, becomes disappointed in him and his wife, Becca, played by Connie Nielsen, and seems to pull only further away.

The incident’s aftermath strikes a match to Hutch’s long-simmering rage, triggering dormant instincts and propelling him on a dangerous path that will surface dark secrets and lethal skills. Hutch must save his family from a dangerous adversary, played by Aleksey Serebryakov, — and ensure that no one will ever underestimate him as a nobody again. Sometimes, the man you don’t notice is the most dangerous.

From a script by Derek Kolstad, also co-stars Christopher Lloyd as Hutch’s father and RZA as Hutch’s brother, whose own hidden talents aid Hutch in his quest for vengeance.

“The Dead Don’t Die” Trailer and Poster

Written and directed by Jim Jarmusch, The Dead Don’t Die takes place in a peaceful town of Centerville. The inhabitants find themselves battling an enormous amount of zombies as the dead rise from their graves.

Focus Featurettes is calling this more “the greatest zombie cast ever disassembled.” The all-star cast includes Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, Iggy Pop, Sara Driver, RZA, Selena Gomez, Carol Kane, and Tom Waits.

Jarmusch worked with both Murray and Driver in Broken Flowers and Paterson respectively.

Watching the trailer is so funny. I bellied laughed and laughed. The cast must have had a great time filming this movie. It’s hilarious.
