“Women Talking” Trailers, Images, Featurette and Poster

Based upon the book by Miriam Toews and screenplay by Sarah Polley and directed by Polley, the Women Talking took place in 2010. The women of an isolated religious community grapple with reconciling their reality with their faith.

According to Polley, the women disagree on essential things and have a conversation to figure out how they might move forward together to build a better world for themselves and their children.

“Though the backstory behind the events in Women Talking is violent, the film is not. We never see the violence that the women have experienced. We see only short glimpses of the aftermath. Instead, we watch a community of women come together as they must decide, in a very short space of time, what their collective response will be.

“When I read Miriam Toews’ book, it sunk deep into me, raising questions and thoughts about the world I live in that I had never articulated. Questions about forgiveness, faith, systems of power, trauma, healing, culpability, community, and self-determination. It also left me bewilderingly hopeful.”

Toews’s book was The New York Times book of the year, so naturally, it should become a film. However, according to producer Dede Gardner from Plan B, Brad Pitt’s production studio, the film departs from the book on many levels.

From the book to the screen, the movie became much bigger. “The book is extraordinary and full of life and humor and wickedness and pithiness,” Gardner said. “Yet, two families of women in a hayloft making a decision for the duration is not an obvious idea for a film. At the same time, I could see its cinematic structure. The thing that the book and the movie really share is that despite all the things that they discuss, there’s a real sense of movement and a victory at the end of it.”

The movie also stars Jessie Buckley.

Astonishingly Entertaining “Dolittle” Trailers and Posters

Watch Robert Downey Jr master Dr, Dolittle
Rex Harrison and Eddie Murphy played the beloved Dr. Dolittle before this production with Robert Downey Jr.

Written and directed by Stephen Gaghan, based on the story by Thomas Shepherd, Dolittle excites one of literature’s most enduring characters and stories in an expressive remake of the classic tale of the man who talks to animals, Dr. John Dolittle, played by Robert Downey Jr.

The movie is available on Prime and wherever DVDs and Blu-rays are sold.

After losing his wife seven years earlier, Dolittle becomes eccentric but a famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria’s England. He hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company.

But when the young queen, played by Jessie Buckley, falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle set sails on a grand adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, recovering his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and discovers fascinating creatures.

The doctor is accompanied on his journey by a young, self-appointed apprentice, played by Harry Collett. Joining the doctor are a loud circle of animal friends, including an anxious gorilla, voiced by Rami Malek, an enthusiastic but bird-brained duck, spoken by Octavia Spencer, a bickering duo of a cynical ostrich, voiced by Kumail Nanjiani, and an upbeat polar bear, voiced by John Cena, and a headstrong parrot, voiced by Emma Thompson, who serves as Dolittle’s most esteemed advisor and confidante.

The movie also stars Antonio Banderas, Michael Sheen, Jim Broadbent. It features additional voice performances from Marion Cotillard, Frances de la Tour, Carmen Ejogo, Ralph Fiennes, Selena Gomez, Tom Holland, and Craig Robinson.

The next trailer offers more information about the movie, and it seems more entertaining.

“Judy” Trailers, Clips, & Poster

Directed by Rupert Goold, Judy begins during the Winter of 1968. The showbiz legend Judy Garland, played by Renee Zellweger, arrives in Swinging London to perform a five-week sold-out run at The Talk of the Town.

It is 30 years since she shot to global stardom in The Wizard of Oz, but if her voice has weakened, its dramatic intensity has only grown. As she prepares for the show, battles with management, charms musicians, and reminisces with friends and adoring fans, her wit and warmth shine through.

The movie derives from the play End of the Rainbow by Peter Quilter and the screenplay adaption by Tom Edge. On the IMDB website, Quilter says Edge’s screenplay is more edger than the imaginative play.

Judy is available on Amazon Prime or wherever Blu-rays and DVDs can be purchased.

Goold directing credits include True Story, King Charles III, and The Hollow Crown, which won Broadcasting Press Guild Awards for Best Single Drama. Goold works with executive producer Sam Mendes, who directed a couple of James Bond 007 movies. Mendes is not involved with the production of Judy.

The movie looks promising with Zellweger as Judy. We come to find even her dreams of love seem undimmed as she embarks on a whirlwind romance with Mickey Deans, played by Finn Wittrock, her soon-to-be fifth husband. Featuring some of her best-known songs, we celebrate the voice, the capacity for love, and the sheer pizzazz of “the world’s greatest entertainer.”

The next trailer shows more of the movie with is flashbacks and Garland’s drug dependency and separation from her children because she needs to go to London and make money. We see more of the other actors in the movie, including Jessie Buckley, Finn Wittrock, Rufus Sewell, and Michael Gambon.

Buckley is making quite a name for herself with her starring role in the award-winning Wild Rose.

Zellweger becomes Judy Garland, and she embodies her. She makes the movie.

Judy Garland is an endearing soul who understood the hardships that life can bring. She lived tragically in the end. But I am sure she is doing well.

In this clip, I can see Judy Garland as Dorothy when she comforts the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Cowardly Lion. Zellweger is brilliant, and I hope she gets nominated for both the Golden Globe and Oscar.

It’s heartbreaking to watch this scene because of Judy Garland’s life rollercoaster. Here she is on an upswing when we know it will be tragic again.

“Wild Rose” Poster & Trailer

Directed by Tom Harper, Wild Rose follows just out of prison Rose-Lynn Harlan, played by Jessie Buckley. She is bursting with raw talent, charisma, and cheek. Reunited with her son and daughter, she wants to leave Glasgow and become a country singer in Nashville.

On the other hand, Rose’s mother, Marion, played by Julie Walters, has had a bellyful of her worthless nonsense. Forced to take strict responsibility, Rose gets a cleaning job, only to find an unlikely champion in the middle-class lady of the house.

Harper is best known for directing episodic television shows and feature films. He has BAFTA nominations for both television and British cinema.

Written by Nicole Taylor, Wild Rose has a message — follow your dreams but keep your responsibilities in check. Home is where the heart is. Taylor is known for writing episodic television. Buckley also started in War & Peace, playing Marya Bolkonskaya, for which Harper directed several episodes.

Buckley won several awards, including the Dublin Film Critics Award for her role in this movie. She also starred in Beast, for which she won an award.

Watching the trailer, you get a feel for the pure Scottish story.

“Beast” Trailer, Movie Clip, and Poster

Written and directed by Michael Pearce, very little is promoted about the movie Beast. The story follows a young woman named Moll, played by Jessie Buckley – an Irish singer and actress. Moll lives in an isolated community with her domineering family.  She meets a stranger named Pascal, played by Johnny Flynn – an English poet and musician.  It is rumored that Pascal is a ruthless murderer with reports of young girls being murdered and then buried.  Moll is torn between her family, the rumors, and Pascal’s true intentions.  Horror is written all over this movie.

The movie received five nominations from different film festivals such as Best Screenplay at the Miami Film Festival, Best First Feature at the London Film Festival, and Platform Prize for Michael Pearce at the Toronto Film Festival.

The movie trailer is nerve-wracking, suspenseful, and horrific. Toward the end of the movie trailer, another character is introduced but I can’t tell for sure Could this be the real murderer?

The movie clip shows her getting even with her mother.
