Astonishingly Entertaining “Dolittle” Trailers and Posters

Watch Robert Downey Jr master Dr, Dolittle
Rex Harrison and Eddie Murphy played the beloved Dr. Dolittle before this production with Robert Downey Jr.

Written and directed by Stephen Gaghan, based on the story by Thomas Shepherd, Dolittle excites one of literature’s most enduring characters and stories in an expressive remake of the classic tale of the man who talks to animals, Dr. John Dolittle, played by Robert Downey Jr.

The movie is available on Prime and wherever DVDs and Blu-rays are sold.

After losing his wife seven years earlier, Dolittle becomes eccentric but a famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria’s England. He hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company.

But when the young queen, played by Jessie Buckley, falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle set sails on a grand adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, recovering his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and discovers fascinating creatures.

The doctor is accompanied on his journey by a young, self-appointed apprentice, played by Harry Collett. Joining the doctor are a loud circle of animal friends, including an anxious gorilla, voiced by Rami Malek, an enthusiastic but bird-brained duck, spoken by Octavia Spencer, a bickering duo of a cynical ostrich, voiced by Kumail Nanjiani, and an upbeat polar bear, voiced by John Cena, and a headstrong parrot, voiced by Emma Thompson, who serves as Dolittle’s most esteemed advisor and confidante.

The movie also stars Antonio Banderas, Michael Sheen, Jim Broadbent. It features additional voice performances from Marion Cotillard, Frances de la Tour, Carmen Ejogo, Ralph Fiennes, Selena Gomez, Tom Holland, and Craig Robinson.

The next trailer offers more information about the movie, and it seems more entertaining.

“Luce” Trailer and Poster

My interest in this movie started when I first saw the trailer on Facebook. I watched it muted because I didn’t want to be rude, playing the sound in a public place. Watch any trailer muted, and its visuals are stronger than when it has sound. I saw a movie that I wanted to see.

The situation in the story is an interesting one because we have the appearance of a perfect student named Luce, played by Kelvin Harrison, Jr. His teacher, Harriet Wilson, played by Octavia Spencer, suspects him to be violent.

Co-written and directed by Julius Onah, Luce is a smart psychological thriller and adapted from JC Lee’s play of the same name. Lee co-wrote the screenplay with Onah.

Onah talked about collaborating with Lee on the screenplay, “Despite how different we are on some levels, we have a similar sensibility when it comes to storytelling and the way we want to explore ideas and issues. Neither of us want to tell stories that are prescriptive or didactic in how they explore complex social issues. We both want to ask people to consider their blind spots, and to recognize their experience of the world will never be identical with anyone else’s.”

An all-star high school athlete and accomplished debater, Luce is a poster boy for the new American Dream. As are his parents, played by Naomi Watts and Tim Roth, adopted him from a war-torn country a decade earlier.

When Luce’s teacher, Ms. Wilson, makes a shocking discovery in his locker, Luce’s stellar reputation comes into question. But is he really at fault or is Ms. Wilson preying on dangerous stereotypes?

Watching the trailer, Onah creates an intense, multi-layered, and entertaining look at identity in today’s America.

Last Chance at Magic “Onward” Poster, Trailers, Clips, Featurettes

Directed by Dan Scanlon, Onward is a Disney and Pixar movie with the substance leaning heavily toward Pixar. The story takes place in a suburban fantasy world where two teenage elf brothers, played by Tom Holland and Chris Pratt, drive off in their van on a journey to discover if there is still magic out there.

Scanlon works for Pixar as a miscellaneous crew, writer, and director. His credits include Monster University as a writer and director, and Brave and Inside Out as miscellaneous crew.

The other cast members currently listed are Octavia Spencer and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

The second trailer is almost a minute longer than the first trailer and tells us the story about the two boys using magic to bring back their father. It’s a road movie like Finding Nemo, an adventure where they run into all sorts of magical creatures. Watch the trailer until the very end because it is hilarious. Onward is going to be one of the best Pixar movies yet.

The third trailer tells us the story and the premise of the movie.

The featurette will get under your skin and drive you to see this movie.

The next three featurettes are kind of fun to watch and share a little information about the Pixar movie.

And, now, a publicity clip and another movie clip you might not be able to see because it could be blocked.

“MA” Trailer, Clips, Interviews & Poster

Directed by Tate Taylor, who brought us The Help, brings us a completely different genre – a horror movie. Ma follows Sue Ann, played by Octavia Spencer, as she appears friendly and welcomes all the teenagers to her house to party in the basement.

All fun and games don’t appear to be all that fun. Everybody’s welcome at Ma’s. But good luck getting home safe.

Sue Ann is a loner who keeps to herself in her quiet Ohio town. One day, she is asked by Maggie, played by Diana Slivers, a new teenager in town to buy some booze for her and her friends. Sue Ann takes advantage of unsuspecting teens and some younger friends.

She offers the kids the chance to avoid drinking and driving by hanging out in the basement of her home. But there are some house rules: One of the kids has to stay sober. Don’t curse. Never go upstairs. And call her “Ma.”

But as Ma’s hospitality starts to curdle into obsession, what began as a teenage dream turns into a terrorizing nightmare, and Ma’s place goes from the best place in town to the worst place on earth.

In the movie trailer, we see her hit and run a person that looks like a man or boy. Thinking about The Help where the unsuspecting housewife eats a pie made of shit from Spencer’s character, Taylor is not going to hold any bunches in this movie.

Ma also stars Juliette Lewis, Luke Evans, Missi Pyle, McKaley Miller, Corey Fogelmanis,, Gianni Paolo, and Dante Brown.

The screenplay is by Scotty Landes, who wrote the episodic Workaholics.

The movie clips show how evil or conniving Ma is with the kids. The interviews are spoilers, and we find out the mother, Lewis, confronts Ma. They confront each other and fight with some sort of explosion at the end.

The interviews with Taylor reveal his long-term relationship with Spencer. They were roommates for seven years. Slivers and Lewis’s interview sheds light on how the movie covers current social topics like bullying, social media, and underage drinking.

“Instant Family” Featurette, Movie Clips, “I’ll Stay” Song & Trailer

Co-written and directed by Sean Anders, Instant Family is based on real events in Anders’ life when he and his wife decided to adopt three kids over the age of five. Releasing the featurette before the movie trailer is unique but effective.  Watch the featurette and you will understand the reason for the featurette first. Anders and his wife are telling the story and the featurette focuses on their story.

Mark Wahlberg stars as Pete in the movie about a childless, married couple who decide to adopt three children. Isabela Moner, Octavia Spencer, and Rose Byrne also star in the movie. Moner and Wahlberg previously starred together in Transformers: The Last Knight.

This is the third collaboration for both Wahlberg and Anders. Their other movies are Daddy’s Home, and Daddy’s Home 2.

She is very beautiful and vibrant. “I’ll Stay” is so true about families.  I hope this clip isn’t blocked because of the song’s copyright.

These movie clips are fun to watch. The first one is so funny, hilarious.  Enjoy!

The movie clips so how much fun this movie is to watch. Enjoy!

John Morris co-wrote the screenplay. His other movies include Dumb and Dumber and Sex Drive.  At times, Morris wears the hat of producer.

The movie trailer came out after the release of the featurette.

“Hidden Figures” Official Trailer

I saw the first trailer in the movie theaters about two weeks ago and thought, why hasn’t this story been told yet? It is priceless, and everyone needs to see it.

Theodore Melfi’s Hidden Figures is the inconceivable, not surprising, true story of Katherine G. Johnson, played by Taraji P. Henson, Dorothy Vaughan, played by Octavia Spencer, and Mary Jackson, played by Janelle Monáe.

The movie follows a brilliant African-American woman working at NASA who was the brains behind one of the greatest operations. That is the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.

The movie is entertaining, if not educating. I hope to see more movies like this one.
