Directed by Michael Chaves with the story by Akela Cooper, The Nun II follows Sister Irene, played by Taissa Farmiga. She once again faces a demonic force. France, in 1956, a priest is murdered, and evil spreads.

Bridget, played by Hilary Swank, returns home to Chicago because her brother, played by Michael Shannon, insists and demands she deal with her ailing mother, played by Blythe Danner. Her brother also tells her she needs to return because her father, played by Robert Forster, is reluctant to let go of their life together.
