“Sicario 2: Soldado” Trailers, Featurette, and Poster

Directed by Stefano Sollima, Sicario 2: Soldado follows the drug war on the US-Mexico border, which has escalated as the cartels have trafficked terrorists across the US border. Federal agent Matt Graver re-teams with the mercurial Alejandro to fight the war. The movie stars Josh BrolinBenicio Del Toro, and Matthew Modine.

The featurette explains the movie and how the title relates to the storyline.

The third trailer shows more of what is going on in the story. It’s not as long, but it’s good.

The movie trailer tells more about the movie. My first thought was that he was trying to save the girl, which was intense.

I like the original movie with Emly Blunt, though the ending was empty with platitudes. Still, Blunt did a great job. I will continue to enjoy her films.

“Isle of Dog” Trailer, Poster, Behind the Scenes, and Movie Clips

Directed and written by Wes Anderson, Isle of Dog looks hilarious with tons of fun to watch over and over again. The trailer is fantastic and I am still laughing.

The story is so cool, which takes place in the future, an outbreak of canine flu leads the mayor of a Japanese city to banish all dogs to an island that’s a garbage dump. The outcasts must soon embark on an epic journey when a 12-year-old boy arrives on the island to find his beloved pet.

The Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming are happening now. The movie clip released with the disc release is witty. The drums in the background are awesome.  They play a major role in the movie.

Do you recognize those voices? They are Anderson’s cohorts including Ed Norton and Bill Murray with

Bryan Cranston, Jeff Goldblum, Ken Watanabe, Greta Gerwig, Frances McDormand, Courtney B. Vance, Fisher Stevens, Harvey Keitel, Liev Schreiber, Scarlett Johansson, and Tilda Swinton.

There is an interesting movie clip showing the stop-motion animation quality of the movie.

Here are a couple of clips that show a female dog who is a psychic. So, it’s not just male dogs in the movie.  The clips apparently show part of the plot points, which is helpful in understanding the story.  Currently, one of the clips are supposedly blocked, but you might be able to view them anyway.

The clip below shows how animation is done Wes Anderson’s style.

The movie clip is interesting because I am curious about the parody.

The movie clip is totally unexpected, and I find it rather funny if not satirical.

“Mortal Engines” Trailers, Featurettes, Movie Clip & Poster

Peter Jackson is attached to this production as one of the producers. Yet, directed by Christian Rivers, Mortal Engines follows Tom Natsworthy, played by Robert Sheehan, after thousands of years civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved.

This new way is very science fiction with a twist of fantasy. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Natsworthy comes forth from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London. The movie finds him fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw, played by Iceland actress Hera Hilmar.  Both are completely opposite in views and purposes, but their paths crossed anyway. They build an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.

After viewing the featurettes and interviews with the actors, director, and behind-the-scenes talent, watching this clip is so much more real and impressive.

Composing music for a film has always interested me and this featurette is so inspiring.

I am surprised I didn’t know this movie is based on books. Here in this featurette, we hear from the author of the books – Phillip Reeve.

The latest featurette interviews the author and producers.  The film is visually stunning.

These behind the scenes featurettes are for the person who is an artist at heart.  My admiration for the talent behind this film is unbelievable. I am amazed at the detail and skill of each artist. The fact that Peter Jackson brought them all together to work on this extraordinary movie is so refreshing.

The featurette tells us what is happening with those engines. We learn about the lead character and how she relates to the story.

The third trailer tells us more about the story.  We find out who the villain is in the movie. The CGI looks great. I just hope there are not pan shoots of CGI. That can really make a movie boring.

The featurette tells us about the movie and how Peter Jackson envisioned the story.  It is better than the movie trailers.

Mortal Engines is adapted from the award-winning book series by Philip Reeve, published in 2001 by Scholastic.

The trailer doesn’t offer much of the movie, but it focuses on Shaw – a female character instead of a male character like Natsworthy. I wonder if it is because Universal understands the importance of celebrating the female role in Hollywood.

“Winchester” Trailer, Poster, Interviews, Blu-ray/DVD Release

Directed by the Spierig brothers, Winchester looks like a true, fancy horror story. The movie follows Sarah Winchester, played by Oscar-winner Helen Mirren, who lives on an isolated stretch of land 50 miles outside of San Francisco, where the most haunted house in the world is built. Sarah Winchester is the heiress to the Winchester fortune from the famous Winchester rifles, and she continues to build her house 24/7. A true mania that lasts for decades.

But Sarah is not building for herself, for her niece, played by Sarah Snook or for the troubled Doctor Eric Price, played by Jason Clarke, whom she has summoned to the house. She is building a prison, an asylum for hundreds of vengeful ghosts. The most terrifying among them have a score to settle with the Winchesters.

The Winchester house is a well-known tourist attraction. Even though I live in Northern California, I have never visited this house, but friends have told me about it, and I have seen the billboards around Interstate 80 promoting the Winchester House as a mysterious home, with nothing about it being haunted.

The Winchester Blu-ray/DVD is available, and I recommend you stream or buy it.

Great interview with the directors. They explain the story and the life of Sarah Winchester. They even cover that it is a horror movie, and I wonder if it is haunted.

The trailer shows a horror movie at its best. This movie will be fun, especially with Mirren in the starring role.

“The Miracle Season” Trailers, Poster, Movie Clips

Take a look at who is starring in this movie. Oscar winners William Hurt and Helen Hunt are fantastic as a parent of a tragic death and a coach who must pull her champion team together and maintain a winning streak, unlike any other volleyball team.

Directed by  Sean McNamara, The Miracle Season follows a champion volleyball team that lost their star player to a tragic auto accident. The town, school, and team go through the process of snapping back to determining winners.

With such an awesome cast, I am sure this movie will not go unnoticed. The ending is predictable but still, it will be fun to watch as long as it doesn’t get too mushy.

The Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming are now available. So, there is no excuse for not seeing this movie. It is a true inspiration.

Helen Hunt totally nails this role as the coach. This movie clip she tells the girls they are strong women, great scene.

The final trailer explains why this heartfelt movie was produced. I hope it does well at the box office.

I like this clip because you meet the real people the true story is based on. It helps you understand how much this town appreciated the girl named Line.

Watch the trailer and see for yourself.

“Annihilation” Trailers, Featurette, Poster

The poster is pretty but doesn’t say much about the movie. If you read the book, you know what you are in for. We just hope it is a worthwhile adaptation.

Written for the Screen and Directed by Alex Garland, Annihilation is based on the novel by Jeff VanderMeer – Southern Reach Trilogy.  The movie stars Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny, and Oscar Isaac.

Slimmer Featurette interviews Natalie Portman and Jennifer Jason Leigh and offers more insight into the storyline.

It’s good to see Jennifer Jason Leigh in this movie.

I watched the movie last night on Prime. Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and the rest of the cast are fantastic. Gina Rodriguez is making a name for herself and starring in several movies of late.

The special effects held its own because I know it’s all green screen. The story is visceral, so without reading the book, it’s hard to track what is real and what is imagined. Each character holds a difficulty close to their chest, which sends them on this “self-destruct” mission.

The creatures the women encounter on their mission brings a horrific layer to the story. They are trying to get to the lighthouse where all their answers will be found. But, that doesn’t happen, which is paradox that makes the movie weak.

The movie is based on a trilogy, and the ending indicates there is more to come. I am curious if that will happen based on the box office returns.

The Truth About “7 Days In Entebbe” is Astonishing

Directed by José Padilha (NarcosElite Squad), 7 Days in Entebbe follows the truly inspired events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris.

Watching the trailer, I can sense the gripping terror of the passengers and those who attempted to rescue the hijack victims. The movie shows the most daring rescue mission ever attempted.

Written by Gregory Burke, who wrote 71, a gripping film about Ireland’s Civil War, 7 Days in Entebbe is a heartwrenching story. The talent cast includes Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl), Daniel Brühl (The Zookeeper’s Wife), Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes), Ben Schnetzer, Lior Ashkenazi, and Denis Ménochet.

The featurette explains the true story, and it was an exciting time in history. Hijacking planes happen during this era, and it was frightening. From the clips and trailers I’ve seen, the director has done a fantastic job of capturing this situation.

Hijacking is an intense clip based on a true story. The tight shots and unspoken intention drive this scene.

“Molly’s Game” Trailers, Featurette, Blu-ray/DVD

Directed by Arron Sorkin, Molly’s Game follows Molly Brown, played by Jessica Chastain, a true story of a beautiful, young, Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents wielding automatic weapons.

Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business giants and finally, unbeknown to her, the Russian mob. Her only ally was her criminal defense lawyer, Charlie Jaffey, played by Idris Elba, who learned there was much more to Molly than the tabloids led people to believe.

Kevin Costner plays Larry Brown, Molly’s father, and Graham Greene plays Judge Foxman with other talented actors like Michael Cera, Jeremy Strong, Chris O’Dowd and Bill Camp.

The Blu-ray and DVD are on the streets. The movie streams on the Internet. Now is the time to see the film if you have not seen it. Chastain takes on the role of Molly Brown as if there is no tomorrow with an Oscar-nominated script by the movie’s director, Arron Sorkin. You just can’t get better than that.

The trailers show a great movie about a story that will unravel and bring to light the true meaning of honesty and being true to oneself.

The featurette has Arron Sorkin talking about the movie along with Jessica Chastain.

“Act of Violence” Trailer

Directed by Brett Donowho, Acts of Violence follows three Midwestern brothers, a crime lord, played by Cole Hauser, and an incorruptible cop, played by Bruce Willis, are on a deadly collision course when the youngest brother’s fiancée is kidnapped by human traffickers.

The story is simple, they have to save her, the MacGregor boys call on their military training – and the strength of family – to fight the most important battle of their lives.   Also, starring is Sophia Bush as Detective Brooke Baker.

“Avengers Infinity War” Trailers, Posters, and Blu-ray/DVD

I must have watched the trailer over ten times to count how many superheroes are in this movie. Infinity of superheroes is definitely the way to interpret the title.

Then, at the very end of the trailer, we see and hear Thor say, “Who are you guys?”  I like the line better in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, “Who are those guys?”

The poster is slick but doesn’t say much. When the character posters come out it will be an epic download for all the fans.

The movie will be fun entertainment, and I look forward to seeing more trailers, clips, and sound bites. Here is another poster that was released after the first one above. The latest shows all the different superheroes in the movie.  I took a quick count and came up with twenty-one superheroes.  Wow! Below is the second movie trailer.

Found some more information on the movie. The next Marvel superhero movie brings to the screen the definitive, deadliest showdown of all time.  Just look at all the characters in the trailer. Allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

The Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming are hitting the streets. Now, is the time to see the movie again. We can only hope for a sequel that will save everyone.

The information provided says the bonus materials contain are pretty awesome, though some retailers may vary. The Blu-ray and digital bonus features are to die for and are fantastic. I included the timeframe for each feature, so you get an idea of how much is available.
