The Night That Changes Everything

The screenplay, co-written by Andrew Baldwin and Seth W. Owen, depicts a young couple, played by Cuoco and Oyelowo, whose lives take a dramatic turn when they uncover each other’s past secrets.

A 2024 action-comedy follows a suburban couple whose anniversary role-play celebration goes off the rails. The wife has a secret life as an assassin, and her husband soon realizes it. He gets pulled into the fray.

Final Thoughts

A story that begins as a game in a hotel bar turns into a precarious murder mystery. It’s so refreshing to see Oyelowo in a comedic role, away from his more serious roles in Selma and A United Kingdom.

Chaos Walking

Directed by Doug Liman from the best-selling young adult novel The Knife of Never Letting Go, Chaos Walking starts in the distant future. Todd Hewitt, played by Tom Holland, befriends Viola, played by Daisy Ridley. She is a mysterious girl who crash-landed on his planet, where all the women have disappeared and are afflicted with “the Noise,” which forces men to display their thoughts.

In this dangerous landscape threatened by her life, Todd vows to protect Viola. He will have to discover his inner power and unlock the planet’s dark secrets. 

I am not sure which book of the trilogy the movie follows. Some say it’s a combination of two of the books. Another exciting aspect when comparing the book and the film is that Viola and Todd are 12 years old in the first book, while the film has them as adults.

The film is streaming on Amazon so that you can watch it. These two actors are talented, but the storyline, I’m sorry to say, didn’t capture the audience.

Liman also directed suspense thrillers The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow. The movie also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Demián Bichir, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Jonas, Kurt Sutter, and David Oyelowo.

“Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” Hilarious Trailers and Poster

Co-written and directed by Will Gluck, Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway greets Peter, played by James Corden. He and his friends return for more ventures.

The rabbits created a makeshift family, but despite his best efforts, Peter can’t seem to shake his mischievous reputation.

Adventuring out of the garden, Peter finds himself in a world where his mischief is appreciated, but when his family risks everything to come looking for him, Peter must figure out what kind of bunny he wants to be.

Patrick Burleigh is also an actor and a director, co-wrote the screenplay with Gluck based on the stories by Beatrice Potter. Gluck is also a producer and is known for Easy A, Friends with Benefits, Annie, Peter Rabbit, and several TV shows, including The Michael J. Fox Show.

The rest of the cast includes Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson, David Oyelowo, Elizabeth Debicki, and Margot Robbie.

The second trailer is very different from the first trailer. The second trailer shows an adventurous story of Peter trying to save his friends while Mr. Gregor helps because he is a father to these crazy animals.

Directed by Nash Edgerton, Gringo looks like a lot of fun and action starring  David Oyelowo, Charlize Theron, Joel Edgerton, Amanda Seyfried, Thandie Newton, and Sharlto Copley.

 

“A United Kingdom” Trailer

Directed by Amma Asante, A United Kingdom follows the lives of two very extraordinary people during a time of significant change in South Africa.

Based on the true story of the forbidden love between King Seretse Khama of Botswana, played by David Oyelowo, and Ruth Williams, played by Rosamund Pike, a white woman from London, which caused an international uproar when they married in the late 1940s, just as apartheid was introduced in South Africa, a decision that altered the course of African history.

It’s good to see Pike in this role. Definitely, it is a unique role from Gone Girl. Asante directed Belle, another true story about crossing the racial line.
