“Pitch Perfect 3” Trailers and Blu-Ray/DVD

Directed by  Trish Sie, the cast just keeps getting larger and larger with an impressive list of talent.

Now graduated from college and out in the real world where it takes more than a cappella to get by, the Bellas return in Pitch Perfect 3, the next chapter in the beloved series that has taken in more than $400 million at the global box office.

After the highs of winning the World Championships, the Bellas find themselves split apart and discovering there aren’t job prospects for making music with your mouth.  But when they get the chance to reunite for an overseas USO tour, this group of awesome nerds will come together to make some music, and some questionable decisions, one last time.

The Blu-ray/DVD hit the streets, so if you missed the movie in theaters, and now you can buy the movie for real. The package includes new songs.

Comparing the Blu-ray cover with the movie poster,  the yellow background makes the movie seem lighter not as dark or foreboding.

Perhaps, shoppers are likely to pick up a lighter colored package than a darker one.

“Logan Lucky” Trailer

Directed by Steven Soderbergh, Logan Lucky follows brothers Jimmy, played by Channing Tatum, and Clyde Logan, played by Adam Driver, trying to reverse a family curse. They set out to execute an elaborate robbery during the legendary Coca-Cola 600 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Take a look at this amazing cast that also includes Seth MacFarlane, Riley Keough, Katie Holmes, Katherine Waterson, Dwight Yoakam, Sebastian Stan, Brian Gleeson, Jack Quaid, Hilary Swank and Daniel Craig.

With that, this trailer is so much fun to watch, pure entertainment.

As a TV Spot, this is pretty cool to watch. This is a fun movie to watch.

“Beatriz at Dinner” Trailers

Directed by Miguel Arteta, the movie follows Beatriz, played by Salma Hayek, an immigrant from a poor town in Mexico. She has drawn on her innate kindness to build a career as a health practitioner in Los Angeles. She collides with her polar opposite, a self-satisfied billionaire, played by John Lithgow, at a wealthy client’s dinner party.

Interesting storyline and I hope it comes to a complete end where the audience isn’t left trying to figure out how to end it.

“The Glass Castle” Trailer and Clips

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton with a stellar cast, the movie is based on a book by Jeannette Walls.  The Glass Castle follows a woman’s life that gets turned upside down when her dysfunctional parents move to New York to live nearer to her.

The movie stars Brie Larson, who is from my hometown.  Woody Harrelson, Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts,  and Max Greenfield join Larson.

The movie is being called a comedy-drama. I just hope it hits its mark.

Here is the final poster for the movie. I have also added a featurette that is pretty darn good.  Enjoy!

“Captain Underpants” Trailer

Directed by David Soren, Captain Underpants is based on a popular book series and with a cast headed by Kevin Hart and Ed Helms.

DreamWorks put the movie together, and the winded title is  Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. This raucously subversive comedy for the entire family tells the story of two overly imaginative pranksters, George and Harold, who hypnotize their principal into thinking he’s a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero, Captain Underpants.

I thought all principals thought they were superheroes.

“The Lovers” Poster and Trailer

Directed by Azazel Jacobs, The Lovers looks like a fun movie to watch as long as the funny moments are actually funny.

The movie follows Michael, played by Tracy Letts, and Mary, played by Debra Winger, are long past passion, never mind patience, after decades of turmoil and tedium in their marriage.

Each is now contentedly distracted by a lover on the side. And each fully intends to call it quits on the other after one last family get-together with their collegiate son, played by Tyler Ross.

So, we meet Michael’s fiery ballet teacher, played by Melora Walters, while Mary is holding her guy, who is a playful novelist, played by Aidan Gillen.

But when the dried-up spark between Michael and Mary unexpectedly, indeed feverishly, reignites, it sends their plans into chaos, forcing them to navigate the hilarious new complications of having to “cheat” on their respective lovers. It all sets the stage for a collision of betrayals and agendas that crescendos to a truly unforgettable ending.

“Atomic Blonde” Trailer, Clips, and Interviews

Directed by David Leitch and starring Oscar winner Charlize Theron, Atomic Blonde appears to be a breakneck action-thriller that follows MI6’s most lethal assassin through a ticking time bomb of a city simmering with revolution and double-crossing hives of traitors. But it is actually a hilarious movie. The trailer is such a wonkier.

The crown jewel of Her Majesty’s Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton, played by Theron, is equal parts spycraft, sensuality, and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission. Sent alone to Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival, played by James McAvoy, to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies. Does this make any sense? It’s hilarious.

The rest of the cast is just awesome. The movie also stars John Goodman, Til Schweiger, Eddie Marsan, Sofia Boutella and Toby Jones. The film is based on the graphic novel series The Coldest City by Antony Johnston and illustrator Sam Hart.

These two interviews with Charlize and Sofia are well thought out. Charlize mentions Apartheid and Berlin during the Cold War. Sofia talks about how stunt work is quite different than dancing.

I am having fun watching the clips. They are so much fun and funny.

“Rough Night” Trailers and Clips

Directed by Lucia Aniello, Rough Night is an edgy R-rated comedy about five best friends from college (played by Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer, and Zoë Kravitz) reunite ten years later for a wild bachelorette weekend in Miami.

They get wild and dark while their hard partying takes a hilarious turn when they accidentally kill a male stripper. Amidst the craziness of trying to cover it up, they’re ultimately brought closer together when it matters most.

This featurette shows the movie is hilarious.

This trailer tells the story well.

Enjoy this wild movie.

“Table 19” Trailer

Directed by Jeffrey Blitz, Table 19 follows the ex-maid of honor, Eloise, played by Anna Kendrick.

She’s been relieved of her duties after being unceremoniously dumped by the best man via text and decides to hold her head up high and attend her oldest friend’s wedding day.

She sits at a random table in the back of the ballroom with a disparate group of strangers, most of whom should have known to send regrets (but not before sending something nice off from the registry).

As everyone’s secrets are revealed, Eloise learns a thing or two from the occupants of Table 9.  Friendships—and even a little romance—can happen under the most unlikely circumstances.

Watch the trailer and enjoy the simple story about misfits who know they are better and deserve a better table.

“Diary of a Wimpy Kid – The Long Haul” Trailer

Just about a whole new cast in the latest installment of the Wimpy Kid franchise. It looks like fun, but a road trip? It could be fun. Hang on tight because I see some familiar faces.
