I am so excited about Woody Allen’s movie Wonder Wheel because the story follows Kate Winslet’s character, who is surrounded by talented actors like Jim Belushi. Watch him in this trailer, and Justin Timberlake.
I look forward to hearing more about this movie, which is usually hush-hush regarding Allen’s latest movie.
I saw the movie on Amazon Prime, and the comedy aspect of the movie is nonexistent. The only remotely funny part is Timberlake’s character because he is so self-centered.
This is the second time Woody Allen has shown psychiatry for what it is—fake. The son goes to a psychiatrist for counseling, but it gets worse. The husband, Belushi’s character, practically calls them a quack.
The poster shows the Ferris wheel in the background with Winslet in the forefront. This is so cliche, but it communicates the message of the movie. Enjoy the trailer.
Directed by Wes Ball from the James Dashner series, Maze Runner: The Death Cure follows the motives of WCKD as they become clearer. Dr. Ava Paige, WCKD’s executive director, is close to what she believes is a cure for the disease known as The Flare, an infection that has decimated the world’s population.
But the cure comes by sacrificing the few young people left in the world who are apparently immune. In order to free those who have been rounded up as test subjects, including his friend Minho, played by Ki Hong Lee, Thomas, played by Dylan O’Brien, must now band together with fellow survivors, old and new, and take the battle to what may be the last remaining city and the final stronghold of WCKD. He must break into the super-secure WKCD headquarters and try to bring down the organization from the inside.
The screenplay is written by T.S. Nowlin, who penned the other two Maze Runner movies.
The Blu-ray/DVD is on the streets, and here is the cover and some cool clips to watch.
Here is the second trailer, which offers more of the storyline. Looks like our hero has some blood to save the world.
There’s not much to say about the movie yet, but here is the first trailer.
I will pick up the book and give it a read before watching the movie. My daughter took ballet for 10 years, and it is a demanding, alluring, and disciplined art.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, Red Sparrowfollows Dominika Egorova, played by Jennifer Lawrence, when she suffers a career-ending injury, Dominika, and her mother faces a bleak and uncertain future. That is why she finds herself manipulated into becoming the newest recruit for Sparrow School, a secret intelligence service that trains exceptional young people like her to use their bodies and minds as weapons.
After enduring the perverse and sadistic training process, she emerges as the most dangerous Sparrow the program has ever produced. Dominika must now reconcile the person she was with the power she now commands, with her own life and everyone she cares about at risk, including an American CIA agent who tries to convince her he is the only person she can trust. The thriller also stars, Joel Edgerton, Matthias Schoenaerts, Charlotte Rampling, Mary-Louise Parker, and Jeremy Irons.
Another interesting note is the movie is based on a book series, and I wonder if the next book in the series will be produced.
The Blu-ray/DVD hit the streets with streaming at the usual platforms. I am not sure how the movie did at the box office. If you haven’t seen it, now is the time to take a look. I find the storyline interesting because it is based on a book written by a former government operative. In interviews, they claim he based it on his experiences in the secret intelligence agency.
Here is the TV Spot. Like all TV Spots, it’s a bit short.
The second trailer tells us the story of a ballerina turn spy in Russia. The trailer also tells us who is starring with Jennifer Lawrence.
Here is the first movie trailer but it doesn’t say much, which is why I am interested in reading the novel.
Dr. Elise Rainier, the awful parapsychologist, faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet. Must be a former patient she failed arrives in her own family home.
The voice of Bart Simpson and Emmy nominee Nancy Cartwright co-wrote with Peter Kjenaas the uplifting and romantic movie In Search of Fellini.
The movie follows a mother-and-daughter relationship in a coming-of-age adventure. Lucy, played by Ksenia Solo, a small-town girl from Ohio, discovers the delightfully bizarre films of the legendary Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini and sets off on a journey through Italy to find him. She also stars Maria Bello, who plays her mother, and Mary Lynn Rajskub.
The Blu-ray and DVD are on the streets if you haven’t seen the movie or want to see it again. You can also stream it if you like.
Directed by Eli Roth, Death Wish is a remake of a very cool classic movie that starred the late Charles Bronson. The story follows Dr. Paul Kersey, played by Bruce Willis. The surgeon only sees the aftermath of Chicago violence when he is rushed to his ER. His wife, played by Elisabeth Shue, and college-age daughter, played by Camila Morrone, are viciously attacked in their suburban home. With the police overloaded with crimes, Paul, burning for vengeance, hunts his family’s assailants to deliver justice. As the anonymous slayings of criminals capture the media’s attention, the city wonders if this deadly vigilante is a guardian angel or a grim reaper. Fury and fate collide in the intense action-thriller.
The new poster is so much better, with the red color showing the violence of the movie.
Screenplay by Joe Carnahan, who is from my hometown, brings the classic story up to date. Eli Roth, whose credits are mainly producing, has directed unfamiliar movies like Cabin Fever and Knock Knock for horror movie fans.
The Blu-ray and DVD are on the streets, so you can see the movie in the comfort of your home if you have or have not seen the movie yet.
The movie trailer is good and shows a contemporary story with ever so silent Willis befitting Bronson, who was also an actor with few words. The poster conveys the same stark message with a pure white background.
Directed by Timothy Reckart, The Star follows a small but brave donkey named Bo, voiced by Steven Yeun. He yearns for a life beyond his daily grind at the village mill. One day, he finds the courage to break free, and finally, he goes on his dream adventure.
On his journey, he teams up with Ruth, voiced by Aidy Bryant, a loveable sheep who has lost her flock and Dave, voiced by Keegan-Michael Key, a dove with lofty aspirations. Along with three wisecracking camels and some eccentric stable animals, Bo and his new friends follow the Star and become unlikely heroes in the most incredible story ever told—the first Christmas.
These are fun to watch, but their language is a bit too modern for the time period.
Enjoy the Vignette about the voice actor for Bo, the donkey.
The new animated short Puppy! directed by Hotel Transylvania‘s Genndy Tartakovsky, is attached to The Emoji Movie. In the short, the residents of Hotel Transylvania find their world turned upside down when youngster Dennis gets a surprise monster-sized pet.
Directed by Todd Haynes and based on Brian Selznick’s novel, Wonderstruck follows Ben, played by Oakes Fegley, and Rose, played by Millicent Simmonds. They are children from two eras who secretly wish their lives were different.
Ben longs for the father he has never known, while Rose dreams of a mysterious actress whose life she chronicles in a scrapbook.
When Ben discovers a puzzling clue in his home and Rose reads an enticing headline in the newspaper, both children set out on quests to find what they are missing that unfold with a mesmerizing balance between them.
The trailer looks excellent, and Selznick wrote the screenplay.
A new clip and poster make me even more excited about this movie. It was such a great book.
Directed by Babak Najafi, the movie follows Mary, played by Taraji P. Henson as a hit woman working for an organized crime family in Boston. Her life is completely turned around when she meets a young boy whose path she crosses when a professional hit goes bad.
The poster looks retro 1960s, which is fun to see. With that, Najafi directed London has Fallen. Proud Mary is so different that it will be interesting to watch.
