“Beast” Trailer, Movie Clip, and Poster

Written and directed by Michael Pearce, very little is promoted about the movie Beast. The story follows a young woman named Moll, played by Jessie Buckley – an Irish singer and actress. Moll lives in an isolated community with her domineering family.  She meets a stranger named Pascal, played by Johnny Flynn – an English poet and musician.  It is rumored that Pascal is a ruthless murderer with reports of young girls being murdered and then buried.  Moll is torn between her family, the rumors, and Pascal’s true intentions.  Horror is written all over this movie.

The movie received five nominations from different film festivals such as Best Screenplay at the Miami Film Festival, Best First Feature at the London Film Festival, and Platform Prize for Michael Pearce at the Toronto Film Festival.

The movie trailer is nerve-wracking, suspenseful, and horrific. Toward the end of the movie trailer, another character is introduced but I can’t tell for sure Could this be the real murderer?

The movie clip shows her getting even with her mother.

Absolutely Lowest But Unsurpassed Destiny “Hotel Artemis” Trailer

Written and directed by Drew Pearce, Hotel Artemis appears to be a black comedy. After watching the movie trailer, Jody Foster plays a nurse running a secret, members-only emergency room hospital. She mainly cares for criminals set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles.

Watching Foster in the movie trailer, I can tell it is science fiction, dark comedy, as she bumbles around talking about following the rules. Her character is not comely and looks weathered.

The movie includes several talented actors such as Sofia Boutella, Jeff Goldblum, Zachary Quinto, and Sterling K. Brown. All appear as a bunch of misfits.

Drew Pearce credits include as executive producer of several televisions series like Damage Control and Lip Service. He received writer and screenplay credit, respectively, for Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and Iron Man 3.

Jodie Foster shines in this movie clip, as she will throughout the movie. I bet she had a great time performing as the nurse—a role made for her.

Filled with clips of different scenes is a movie trailer that is not telling us much, and I hope to see more footage so I can share it with you.

“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” Posters, TV Spot, Trailers, Featurettes, Blu-ray & DVD

Directed by J.A. Bayona, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the new Jurassic Park installment has arrived. The story keeps to where the last movie ended, but it is four years later. The theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World is still destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Forsaken by humans, Isla Nublar is surviving with dinosaurs fending for themselves in the island jungles.

The island has an active volcano, now. Owen, played by Chris Pratt, and Claire, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, organize an operation to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from the dangers of the volcano, which is wiping them out.

If you are familiar with the former movie, Owen bonded with Blue, his lead raptor, he wants to find him because he is still missing in the wild. Claire developed an understanding and respect for these unique beasts. She makes her mission and hopes to save the ones that remain.

When Owen and Claire arrive on the unstable island, the lava rains down on their expedition. But, the worse is not the erupting volcano.  They uncover a conspiracy to return the whole planet to a terrifying order not seen since prehistoric times. The studios give us a hint if you look at the third poster real close. You will see the words “The Park is Gone.”

The production is boasting new breeds of dinosaurs with the favorites returning. Howard is a true actress and Pratt can hold his own as an action guy. Take a look at the movie trailer and see the coming spectacle for yourself.

Not only has Juan Antonio García Bayona directed the fifth installment of Jurassic Park, he is known as J.A. Bayona and is a Spanish director known for directing television commercials and music videos. He also directed horror movie The Orphanage and the drama The Impossible starring Naomi Watts, who was nominated for an Oscar, and Ewan McGregor.

The movie also stars Toby Jones, Ted Levine, Rafe Spall, BD Wong and Jeff Goldblum.

The Blu-ray, DVD, and online streaming are happening, so if you want to see the movie again or if you missed it in the movie theaters, now is your chance to own it or watch in the comfort of your home or on your device.

The movie trailer below shows us more about the story and what to expect when we see the movie. The kid’s reactions are great. I can’t wait to see their interviews and hear them talk about working in the movie.

The featurette below sets the pace of the movie and allows us to see where the story is going.  Bayona talks about shooting the scenes tightly so the suspense of what is happening is evident.

The movie trailer shows all the action and adventure you will experience in the movie theaters.

The TV spot is pretty cool to watch because it shows the grandeur of the CGI dinosaurs.

Alpha Trailers and Posters

Directed by Albert Hughes, Alpha follows man’s best friend during the adventure set in the last Ice Age. The movie trailer looks fascinating, visually stunning. The story follows his first hunt with his tribe.

A young man is injured and must learn to survive alone in the wilderness. Reluctantly taming a lone wolf abandoned by its pack, the two discover that they can rely on each other. They help each other overcome dangers so they can find their way home before winter arrives.

The movie trailer explains what the story is about and the kids will love it. The newest poster is so awesome because it shows the period when this movie takes place.

The vignette discusses the importance of finding the right dog in order to create the perfect relationship between the boy and the dog.

“Mary Shelley” Trailer and Poster

Co-written and directed by Haifaa Al Mansour, Mary Shelley tells the story of Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, played by Elle Fanning. She is the author of the well-known Gothic novel “Frankenstein.”

Godwin goes through a fiery, tempestuous relationship with celebrated romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, played by Douglas Booth. Both are outsiders constrained by polite society but bound by a natural chemistry and progressive ideas beyond their age and time.

Mary and Percy declare their love for each other, and much to her family’s horror, they run away together, joined by Mary’s half-sister Claire, played by Bel Powley.

A growing tension within their relationship builds during their stay at a friend’s house on Lake Geneva. The friend is Lord Byron, played by Tom Sturridge. Godwin conceives the idea of Frankenstein because all houseguests write a ghost story.

The author created an incredible character, which looms large in popular culture for centuries to come, but society at the time put little value on female authors. At age 18, Mary must challenge these preconceptions, protect her work and forge her identity.

Mansour is from Saudi Arabia and is the first female filmmaker in her country. Her work is controversial.

The movie trailer shows the love and tension between Mary and Percy. There are some quick references to Mary declaring authorship for “Frankenstein.”

“The Wife” Posters, Movie Clip, and Trailer

Directed by Björn Runge and based on the bestseller by Meg WolitzerThe Wife stars Glen Close as the movie follows her contemplations as a wife – Joan Castleman. Joan questions her choices as she travels to Stockholm with her husband, played by Jonathan Pryce, where he is slated to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Runge is from Sweden and is known for  Harry & Sonja when he received two Guldbagge awards for Best Director and Best Screenplay in 2003. He also received the Berlin Film Festival  Silver Bear and Der Blaue Engel Prize.

The movie trailer suggests her husband is not supportive of Joan as she has been supportive of him.  The final line in the trailer, “I am a king builder,” finalizes the overall premise of the story, which seems visceral, contemplative, and contemporary.

In this scene, undercurrents are rampant.  It makes me think how naive and blind some men can be.  Great scene!

This is a long clip, almost two minutes. It shows so much between all the characters and the story about the wife. Ironically, this scene feels endearing.

Christian Slater seems to play another writer or journalist who brings out Joan’s contemplations concerning her choices and her husband’s belittling and infidelity.

The movie clip below shows a wife who plays a big part in her husband winning the Nobel Prize.

“Under the Silver Lake” Trailer and Posters

Written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, Under the Silver Lake follows a man named Sam, played by Andrew Garfield. He becomes obsessed with the strange circumstances of a billionaire mogul’s murder and the kidnapping of a girl named Sarah, played by Riley Keough, who is Sam’s new neighbor. Sam’s friend, played by Topher Grace, helps him with an investigation surrounding a missing woman – Sarah.

The movie appears to be a murder mystery and quirky with odd people in odd circumstances. Mitchell breakout movie was It Follows, a horror movie. Its world premiere was at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2014.

The Under the Silver Lake movie trailer is a bit choppy like the poster. The story seems intriguing because of the mysterious woman and the quirky people Sam comes across in his effort to solve the mystery.

“Adrift” Trailers, Movie Clips, Featurettes, and Posters

Directed by Baltasar Kormakur, who directed 2 Guns starring Denzel Washington and Mark Walberg and has produced several movies, is an actor, is from Iceland, Adrift stars Shailene Woodley, who started in Fault in Our Stars, and Divergent films, and Sam Claflin, who starred in The Hunger Games.

The movie is based on a true story of carefree spirits with a love for adventure. They essentially two free spirits whose chance encounter leads them first to love and then to the dangers of a hurricane.

The story follows their early romance and a commitment as two enthusiastic sailors embark on a journey across the ocean. Tami Oldham, played by Woodley, and Richard Sharp, played by Claflin, had no idea they were in a straight line into one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in recorded history.

In the aftermath of the storm, Tami awakens to find Richard badly injured and their boat in ruins. With no hope for rescue, Tami must find the strength and determination to save herself and the only man she has ever loved.

Kormakur has tackled similar true stories about the spirit coming face to face with natural disasters and overcoming them or ending tragically.  The Deep won Kormakur awards in Iceland and Everest. Both of these movies he produced.

Adrift appears to be a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Watching the resilience of the human spirit and the transcendent power of love is the only hope imaginable.

The movie is scripted by Aaron Kandell, Jordan Kandell, and David Branson Smith.  Kandell twins worked together on Moana, and Branson has worked on episodic television such as Enlightened and the feature film Ingrid Goes West.

The Blu-ray and DVD are hitting the streets, so now is the time to see the movie again. Unless, you haven’t seen the movie, nows your chance to see what is so special about the movie.  With that, I am adding some movie clips and behind the scenes clips of the production.

I saw this movie on a flight from Tampa Bay to Denver. The acting was great and the movie seemed slow at times.  I did cry at one point toward the end realizing what this young woman went through to survive.  I think some of the audience missed the point of Richard’s spirit being on the boat helping her survive and navigate the boat to Hawaii.  The movie called him a mirage but it’s more than that if you read Tami’s book.

The second movie trailer is so much better. The music is exuberant and daunting.  You can get a feel for what Woodley’s character is going through.

The movie trailer is super intense and explains how you will be on the edge of your seat as you watch this movie.

Shrewd and a Challenge “Eighth Grade” Trailer

Directed by Bo Burnham, who did well on YouTube, brings a Sundance Film Festival winner to the screen. Eighth Grade follows a teenager, played by Elise Fisher. She tries to survive the last week of her disastrous eighth-grade year before leaving to start high school.

The movie told through her social media talents and the insane awkwardness of trying to fit feel comfortable in one’s own skin.

The movie also stars Josh Hamilton, Emily Robinson, and Daniel Zolghadri.

The movie is streaming, so you can watch in the comfort of your own home or on your device.

I feel this movie will be painful to watch because the presented situations are all too familiar with any girl, or boy for that matter, coming of age in a materialistic world of Snapchat and Instagram. Just watching the trailer made me feel uncomfortable, but it could be cathartic for some viewers.

“The Darkest Minds” Trailer, Movie Clip, Posters, Blu-ray/DVD

The Darkest Minds is produced by the people who brought us Stranger Things. Though, if you watch the trailer, I am a bit skeptical that it will be as good if not better than Netflix’s hit series.

Directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and based on the YA novel by Alexandra Bracken, the movie follows sixteen-year-old Ruby, played by Amandla Stenberg. She is one of the ablest and powerful teenagers ever encountered.

There are teens, like Ruby, who mysteriously develop powerful abilities. The government declares them a threat and detains them.  Ruby escapes her camp and joins a group of runaway teens seeking safe haven.

Soon her friends become her newfound family, in a world in which the adults in power have betrayed them, running is not enough and they must wage a resistance, using their collective power to take back control of their future.

The movie is streaming and the Blu-ray/DVD is released, so you can watch the movie in the comfort of your own home or on your device. The movie clip “Camp Dance” hit the Internet concurrently with the releases.  The clip shows a cool way to charm a mind reader during a camp dance.

The movie also stars Mandy Moore, Harris Dickenson, and Gwendoline Christie.
