Monumental “A Simple Favor” Motion Posters, Posters, Trailers

Based on a novel by Darcy Bell and co-written and directed by Paul Feig, A Simple Favor follows Stephanie, played by Anna Kendrick. She is a mommy vlogger seeking to discover the truth behind her best friend Emily’s, played by Blake Lively, sudden disappearance from their small town.

Feig directed Bridesmaids and is used to comedy, so this storyline is different for him. I can see by the way the trailer’s edited there are some humorous undertones.

I saw the movie through Amazon Prime and found it to be delightful. Kendrick pulls off the best part for her in a big way. The film starts off a bit rough with the peripheral characters, but once the movie gets into the meat of the story, it is fabulous. I am so glad I saw it. I highly recommend it.

The movie is now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming. Now is the time to see the film if you haven’t yet, or you want to see it again.

The second trailer shows more of what the story is about the sharp cuts of Stephanie upset and doing so off the wall stuff means Emily has a dark side or both do.

Several different posters were released. The one to the right is the latest. I still like the one above with the question mark collage because it communicates the mystery of the story. It is clever with a 1960s theme.  The one on the right seems playful.  With that, the movie is supposed to be a mystery but playful.

I am amazed at who many posters the movie is generating. I still like the question mark poster the best. But, the one with the fan design is pretty cool, too.

This is called a specialty poster, which I like. I am thinking about embedding the poster before my YouTube interviews with the cast and crew of A Simple Favor.

I love the music by Theodore Shapiro in these the trailer and motion poster. The song is upbeat with a twist of intrigue. You might be familiar with his work on The Secret Life of Walter MittyI Love You, Man, and Tropic Thunder.

“Ant-Man and the Wasp” Trailers, Poster, and Blu-ray/DVD

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and The Wasp comes from Marvel. The story is a new age of superheroes that can shrink. Ant-Man arrived in Captain America: Civil War. Scott Lang contends with the values of his choices as both a superhero and a father. He tackles the complexity of home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man.

He confronts Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with a crucial mission. Scott dons the suit and learns to fight alongside The Wasp. As a team, they work together and discover secrets from the past.

The movie has an impressive cast such as Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Douglas.
The Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming are live and ready for your viewing.

Paul Rudd contributed to the screenplay. He’s joined by Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Andrew Barrer, and Gabriel Ferrari. Reed helmed two other movies. The sleeper hit Bring It On, a cheerleading competition stars Kirsten Dunst. He also directed Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn in The Break-up.

“Early Man” Trailer and Movie Clips Blu-ray/DVD

Aardman Studio is an award-winning production company known for creating Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, and Shaun the Sheep movies.

Coming from the same studio, Early Man is just as fun as their earlier movies. This time it takes place during the prehistoric era: a caveman named Dug and his ultra-goofy friends. Together challenge the invaders to a game of soccer. If they win, they get back their home.

This is truly a kid’s movie because it is about innocence and idiots. The claymation is pure art and makes the movie fun to watch. The story took place at the dawn of time when prehistoric creatures roamed the Earth; Early Man tells the story of courageous caveman hero Dug, voiced by Eddie Redmayne, and his best friend, Hognob, as they unite their tribe against a mighty enemy. The enemy is Lord Nooth, expressed by Tom Hiddleston. He rules a Bronze Age City and has taken them home.

The Blu-ray and DVD packages have extensive special features. Never-before-seen featurettes reveal the love, passion, hard work, and magic that go into creating an Aardman Studios animated film.

These movie clips are funny – enjoy!

“Whitney” Documentary Trailer, Movie Clip, and Posters

Directed by Kevin Macdonald, Whitney is a documentary about Whitney Houston. A super talented singer who broke more music industry records than any other female singer in history.  If you haven’t heard of Whitney Houston, just google her name. You will recognize her music.

Whitney was nominated for the Golden Eye and Queer Palm award during the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.

I would have a hard time watching this movie with a dry eye. I would need two boxes of tissues because her life was so tragic – according to the news headlines.  I am sure she had some happy moments – probably tons of happy moments.

Her talent and personality brought over 200 million album sales worldwide. She was the only artist to chart seven consecutive U.S. No. 1 singles. She also starred in several blockbuster movies before her brilliant career gave way to erratic behavior, scandals, and death at age 48.

It saddens me to even think that a documentary about her has arrived.

The posters look so inspirational and validating the career of a legend.

The documentary is an intimate, unflinching portrait of Houston and her family that probes beyond familiar tabloid headlines and sheds new light on the entrancing path of Houston’s life.

The studio claims there is never-before-seen archival footage, exclusive demo recordings, rare performances, audio archives and original interviews with the people who knew her best.

From Glasgow, Scotland, Macdonald is an Oscar-winning filmmaker with some awesome credits like One Day in September (won an Oscar – Best Documentary,) Marley, and The Last King of Scotland.

The studio boasts Macdonald unravels the mystery behind Whitney and how she struggled to make peace with her own troubled past.  I don’t think anyone can figure it out. The only person who knows is Whitney Houston.

The movie clip below shows Whitney in rehearsals. Such a dynamic and beautiful person who left us way too soon.

“Kin” Posters, Movie Clips, Featurette, and Trailer

Written and directed by Josh and Jonathan Baker, the movie is about a young man and his adopted teenage brother. A revengeful criminal chases them, the feds and a gang of otherworldly soldiers. The supernatural means it has a science fiction twist to the story. Dennis Quaid stars as the father, and Carrie Coon, James Franco, and Zoe Kravitz star.

The young man, played by Jack Reynor, is recently released from prison. He and his brother, Eli, played by Myles Truitt, are forced to run. They have a rifle-like weapon of mysterious origin that Eli found. They use the rifle effectively because it is super powerful and needs to fight off some bad guys.

The poster on the right shows more about the movie. The otherworldly aspect of the story is evident. Not much is being told about the overall story yet.

The movie is streaming and is available on Blu-ray and DVD. Now it is your turn to watch it on your device.

Just below the poster on the right is the motion poster for Kin.

The poster focuses on the young boy who finds the alien gun.

The featurette teaches what it takes to be a sound designer for a movie like Kin. I love this stuff.

The movie clip shows Zoe Kravitz in action.

The movie clip shows how the alien gun works.

The movie clip shares a plot point in the story. That is interesting because I can’t imagine someone leaving that much money at a bar.

I am not sure why the movie is called Kin. It could be about the relations between the brothers being kin even though they are not blood-related. The title could be referring to the powerful weapon. Just have to see the movie to find out.

The movie trailer tells the story and what the two brothers are up against.

Disney’s Nature – “Penguins” Trailer & Clips

Disney’s Nature brings another documentary to the silver screen.

We meet Steve and his friends in Antarctica.  The family movie, part of the Disney Earth series, will be released next Earth Day.  There is not much-written information about the film, but the trailer explains quite a bit.

The Sizzle reel of the last ten years of Disney’s Nature is so much fun to watch and realize how much time and effort it took to make these unforgettable movies.

The three movie clips show what we will see watching this documentary. I am impressed with their work. These documentaries must be produced and directed to the public so we understand the importance of helping all living forms survive on this planet.

“How to Talk to Girls at Parties” Poster and Trailer

Co-written and directed by John Cameron Mitchell, How to Talk to Girls at Parties is based on a short story written by Neil Gaiman. The movie follows Enn, played by Alex Sharp. Enn is a shy teenager living in a London suburb in 1977.

He sneaks out with his best friends to frequent punk parties. They misstep into a rather strange gathering of sexy teenagers. They seem like they are from another planet.

They are from another planet. They are visiting Earth to complete a mysterious rite of passage. Enn falls madly in love with Zan, played by Elle Fanning. Zan is a beautiful and unruly alien teenager. Even though she holds allegiance to her strange colony, she is captivated by Enn.

Zan and Enn jump into a delirious adventure through the kinetic punk rock world of 1970s London. In all, they set off a series of events leading to the ultimate showdown of punks vs. aliens, which tests the limits of how far each of them will go for true love.

Nicole Kidman also stars in this movie as a punk rocker.

The movie trailer is convoluted and crazy, with no rhyme to the story. Hopefully, another trailer and movie clip will be released, making it easier to understand and figure out what is happening.

“Puzzle” Trailer, Poster, & Movie Clips

Directed by Marc Turtletaub, Puzzle follows Agnes, whose life is a puzzle she is trying to assemble. If you watch the trailer, you will agree with me. The movie is a metaphor for putting one’s life in order by mastering jigsaw puzzles.

Agnes, played by Kelly Macdonald, does that same thing every day, and her family takes her for granted. She discovers a love for solving jigsaw puzzles. She finds a new world of solving jigsaw puzzles. Her self-esteem builds until her life unfolds in ways she could never have imagined.

The movie clip shows the similarities of each character, which explains why they are drawn to each other and puzzles.

The movie clip below says about what puzzles can do for a person.

Watch the trailer, and you will see a beautiful story unfold. Turteltaub directed Little Miss Sunshine, which launched his career and several others. The Puzzle looks like a sleeper hit.

“The Equalizer 2” Trailers, Poster, Extended Movie Clip

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, Denzel Washington returns to his role in the first sequel of all Washington movies. The Equalizer 2 follows Robert McCall, played by Washington, as he continues to serve an unwavering justice for the ill-used and coerced.

This time around McCall applies justice for the death of someone very special in his life. How far will he go to make sure justice is served when that is someone he loves?

The movie also stars Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders, Bill Pullman, and Melissa Leo.

The studio marketing department did wonders with the movie poster. EQ2 and two side by side images of Washington’s face communicate so well.

The Equalizer franchise is based on a television series created by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim. The TV series starred Edward Woodward, who played retired espionage and intelligence officer with a cagey past. He applies his skills from his previous profession to apply justice to innocent people. People trapped in threatening situations with no recourse except the Equalizer.

Fuqua has worked with Washington before in the 2001 Oscar-winning movie Training Day.

The extended movie clip shows how the Equalizer, Washington, operates and predicts his movies.

The second trailer is entertaining in the sense of intensity. The movie is filled with action and sharp cuts by Fuqua’s direction. We can only hope for an awesome ending to satisfy our palate.

The movie trailer shows McCall applying his revenge as justice is served.  The little girl is so cute and adorable.

Absolutely Lowest But Good “Deadpool 2” Trailers and Poster

Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 arrives with cafeteria chef Wade Wilson or Deadpool, played by Ryan Reynolds. Wilson survived a near-fatal bovine attack, though it disfigured him, and he still is trying to make his dream come true, becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender. While he is learning to cope with his lost sense of taste, he is still trying to add more spice to his life as he battles a sundry of squirrelly characters that make no sense.

Leitch directed Charlize Theron in the 2017 comedy-thriller Atomic Blonde, which I wrote about earlier. It seems he likes to direct movies that are not all that serious and have some over-the-top humor.

Josh Brolin also stars as Nathan Summers or Cable. He looks to be Deadpool’s nemesis. The trailers and clips below are crazy and weird, but that is how Deadpool movies play out on the screen, so enjoy them and try to figure out the storyline. I sure didn’t.
