“Zombieland 2: Double Tap” Poster, Clips, Featurette & Trailers

Abigail Breslin, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Jesse Eisenberg return to fight more Zombies.

Ten years ago, Zombieland became a hit and a cult classic that was fun to watch because it is such a wisecracking movie.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, who directed Venom, the sequel, Zombieland 2: Double Tap seems as ridiculous as the first movie with the lead cast consisting of Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone. They reunite with director Ruben Fleischer and the original writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

In the sequel with Dave Callaham coming on board as the third writer, the comic mayhem continues from the first movie. The story stretches from the White House and through the heartland.

The four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own cynical, make-do family.

The featurette tells us how the second movie differs from the first. It appears to be a lot more crazy and bazaar that the first one.

The second trailer shows how silly the movie will be in the theatres and the problem with the zombies being faster.

The movie clip shows the movie has the same humor as the first movie.

We have two more clips for you, and they prove to show us that the movie is different, including a mystery behind the copycats.

“Midway” Posters and Trailers Heroic Feats of Fearless Men

Directed by Roland Emmerich, Midway focuses on the historic Battle of Midway as a critical part of the Pacific Theater during World War II. The movie shows the clash between the American fleet and the Imperial Japanese Navy, which marked a pivotal turning point during WWII. The film is streaming on Amazon.

Wes Tooke wrote the story based on the real-life events of heroic feats. The leaders and soldiers used their wits, instincts, courage, and bravery to overcome the odds and defeat the Japanese.

The movie’s huge cast is stellar.

Some of the top brass in the movie are Lieutenant Commander Wade McClusky, played by
Luke Evans, Edwin Layton, played by Patrick Wilson, Admiral William “Bull” Halsey, played by Dennis Quad, and Admiral Chester Nimitz, played by Woody Harrelson. The rest of the cast includes Aaron Eckhart, Nick Jonas, Etsushi Toyokawa, Tadanobu Asano, Luke Kleintank, Jun Kunimura, Darren Criss, Keean Johnson, Alexander Ludwig, and Mandy Moore.

Emmerich directing credits are rich with grandiose movies like The Day After Tomorrow and Independence Day. Tooke writing credits include episodic TV shows like Colony and Jean-Claude Van Johnson.

The next trailer tells more about the story. Historically, the story is impressive. Doolittle and his crew perform an unbelievable mission.

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” Trailers, Featurettes, Interview, and Posters

Directed by Ron Howard, we learn about the early years of one of Star Wars most beloved heroes – Hans Solo.  Plenty of posters, movie clips, featurettes, and trailers are posted here for you to peruse. You can start with the teaser trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The movie boards the Millennium Falcon and journeys to a galaxy far, far away in an all-new adventure with the one of the most known about scoundrel in the galaxy. The movie is a story about Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich, at the beginning of his adventures in Star Wars.

The Blu-ray and DVD are on the streets with streaming available as well. Check out the trailer promoting the next phase of seeing Solo: The Star Wars Story.

Remember, the special featurettes will be worth the purchase.

I am looking forward to having this movie package as part of my personal library.  The Star Wars franchise is such a pleasure and exciting part of the entertainment industry.

Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo befriends his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, played by Donald Glover. The story will set the course for one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

The screenplay is written by Lawrence Kasdan and his son, Jon Kasdan, which means it will be a great story.  Senior Kasdan is very familiar with the Star Wars series.  He wrote Empires Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Force Awakens.

The also stars Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Paul Bettany.

The next featurette came out the day of the US opening night. It offers even more information about the characters and the story.

I am posting Ron Howard’s interview because he articulates the story and cinematic approach to making a movie about Han Solo. He talks about working with George Lucas and the production team.

Becoming Solo featurette tells a bit more about the story in terms of the Empire.

Here is a super cool tour of the Falcon. Donald Glover is the tour guide.

The second trailer tells more of the story, and it appears Han Solo gets involved with some ruffians.

“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” Trailer, Clips, and Featurettes

Directed by Martin McDonagh, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is a dark comedy that follow Mildred Hays, played by Frances McDormand, who after months have passed without a culprit in her daughter’s murder case, makes a bold move, commissioning three signs leading into her town with a controversial message directed at William Willoughby, played by Woody Harrelson. Apparently, Willoughby is the town’s revered chief of police but it such doesn’t look like it in the trailer.

When Willoughby’s second-in-command Officer Dixon, played by Sam Rockwell, an immature mother’s boy with a penchant for violence, gets involved, the battle between Mildred and Ebbing’s law enforcement is only exacerbated.

This is a great interview about an actor’s process of being the character.

The trailer is hilarious and fun to watch, but I still feel Hays’ pain of losing her daughter without the police doing anything about her murder.

The story begins with Mildred Hayes and the three billboards she rents on Drinkwater Road. “I decided the buyer of the billboards was an aggrieved mother and from there, things almost wrote themselves,” McDonagh recalls. “Mildred was someone strong, determined and raging, yet also broken inside. That was the germination of the story.”

Frances McDormand is exceptional to watch in the trailer and clip as a modern, female variant of the classic western hero in a showdown-style performance. “I really latched onto John Wayne in a big way as my physical idea, because I really had no female physical icons to go off of for Mildred,” she explains. “She is more in the tradition of the Spaghetti Western’s mystery man, who comes walking down the center of the street, guns drawn, and blows everybody away — although I think it’s important that the only weapons Mildred ever uses are her wits and a Molotov cocktail.”

“I could see it in her walk and her attitude,” says McDonagh. “I think John Wayne did become a touchstone to a degree for Frances. But I also see Brando and Montgomery Clift in there, too.”

Here is a featurette describing McDonagh’s work.

I saw the movie last night. It is well-written, but the ending is not uplifting. I wanted the characters to find and closer.

My daughter found an article about how the movie is based on a real-life incident of a grieving father “advertising” on three billboards about how the Vidor, Texas police botched their investigation into her murder.

“The Glass Castle” Trailer and Clips

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton with a stellar cast, the movie is based on a book by Jeannette Walls.  The Glass Castle follows a woman’s life that gets turned upside down when her dysfunctional parents move to New York to live nearer to her.

The movie stars Brie Larson, who is from my hometown.  Woody Harrelson, Jennifer Lawrence, Naomi Watts,  and Max Greenfield join Larson.

The movie is being called a comedy-drama. I just hope it hits its mark.

Here is the final poster for the movie. I have also added a featurette that is pretty darn good.  Enjoy!

“Wilson” Trailer

Directed by Craig Johnson and after watching the trailer, I had a pleasant laugh. Wilson may prove to be hilarious. The poster is not all that engaging because it shows two men at a urinal—big deal.

The trailer is hopeful. Lauren Dern has proved quite the actress of late. In the Fault in Our Stars and Wild, she played a mother, while in Wilson, she plays and wife and an uncaring mom.

Woody Harrelson stars as Wilson, a lonely, neurotic, and hilariously honest middle-aged cynic who reunites with his estranged wife, played by Laura Dern and gets a shot at happiness when he learns he has a teenage daughter, played by Isabella Amara. He has never met.  In his uniquely outrageous and slightly twisted way, he sets out to connect with her.

Based on a graphic novel of the same name, the movie expands the book’s events beyond its single-page graphic novel style vignettes. The characters develop further by filling in the blanks, and the characters are flawed. With that, the movie might be worth a watch if you like funny, making fun of people’s tragic lives.

“Lost in London” Trailer

Directed by Woody Harrelson, this unprecedented live feature film event, Lost in London LIVE, he wrote and will also co-star with Owen Wilson and Willie Nelson, giving audiences the unique opportunity to watch a film shot in real-time.

Loosely based on a crazy night full of real-life events, the movie follows Harrelson, playing himself, as he struggles to get home to his family. Run-ins with royalty, old friends, and the law all seem to conspire to keep Harrelson from succeeding.

“I’ve always loved theatre and film and wanted to find the best way to merge the two. When I decided to shoot this in real-time, I realized it wasn’t quite like true theatre because the one-piece missing was a live audience. By broadcasting the film live as its being shot, I hope to truly blend the excitement of live theater with the scale and scope of the film,” said Harrelson.

I hope this film event is a success because I get a kick out of people pushing the envelope in an industry that is all too redundant with remakes and sequels.
