Written for the screen and directed by Cord Jefferson, American Fiction is a hilarious twist on the obsession with reducing people to outrageous stereotypes.
Based upon the novel Erasure by Percival Everett, Jeffrey Wright stars as Monk, a frustrated novelist fed up with the establishment profiting from “Black” entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes.
Directed by Reed Morano, The Rhythm Section follows Stephanie Patrick, played by Blake Lively. She is an ordinary woman on a path of self-destruction after the tragedy of her family’s death in a plane crash.
When Stephanie discovers that the crash was not an accident, she enters a dark, complex world to seek revenge on those responsible and find her redemption. Based on the novel by Mark Burnell, who created a series of books based on the character Stephanie Patrick. Burnell also wrote the screenplay for the movie.
Morano is an Emmy-winning director for The Handmaid’s Tale and a talented cinematographer. The Rhythm Section also stars Jude Law and Sterling K. Brown.
The movie trailer looks legit, and it’s exciting to see Lively get a movie of this caliber. Lively also starred in A Simple Favor with Anne Kendrick. I highly recommendA Simple Favor. Lively’s part is smaller, but it’s a good movie.
The movie clip is an intense car chase that keeps you on the edge of your proverbial seat.
The next trailer, designed for social media platforms, I don’t see much of a difference.
The next two featurettes lack enough information to tell you about the story, which is crucial to making this movie entertaining, and not just another female action movie.
The two movie clips show how Lively’s character is withdrawn but emerging and calculating.
Directed by Thurop Van Orman, Angry Birds 2 looks cold and silly. The domestic movie trailer shows a conflict of sorts between tropical birds in paradise and a tundra bird being miserable.
Peter Ackerman wrote the screenplay, and the little dialogue I can hear in the movie trailer appears not for kids’ ears. The storyline is not clear. The sequel seems to have a bigger voice cast with new and returning talent.
The studio promises the flightless birds, and scheming green pigs take their beef to the next level. I doubt the movie will be as addicting as the app.
The movie entertains kids of all ages. The competition we see in the app happens on the screen. The more powerful birds get the accolades as seen in this movie trailer.
I haven’t played the app game in a very long time. These posters are so cute, and the bird expressions are priceless.
The studio is calling this the fifth trailer, so enjoy. It is funny and cute.
The two clips are silly but funny. The bathroom clip is hilarious.
Two more movie clips that show how cute and silly these birds can get when they set their minds to it. The first clip is my favorite.
The “Sus Sis” clip is too funny and doesn’t help me understand this movie at all.
The next two clips show how the movie is ridiculous.
Directed by Shane Black, the new tale of ThePredator arrives from outer reaches of space and lands in the small-town streets of suburbia. Though it appears innocent, Black brings a different twist this time compared to the original starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The hunt comes home with children and parents. The most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter, and deadlier than ever before. They have genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species.
In the movie trailer, it shows a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth. Who is going to save the day this time? A ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher will join forces to save the end of the human race.
The ensemble cast includes Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski.
The movie is streaming and is available on Blu-ray and DVD if you didn’t get a chance to see the film in the theaters, now you can.
The red band trailer tells more of the story. It appears a human male transforms into a predator. So, he is half human and half predator. What does that mean? The red band label is because one of the male characters says something raunchy.
The latest poster is so wicked with a sophisticated touch. The orange background flourishes with spicy motives. The predator’s hand on a predator’s head with a spine is clockwork orange expression. Kubrick would be proud.
Shane Black is legendary for screenwriting the top scripts for movies like Lethal Weapon, The Long Kiss Goodbye, and The Last Boy Scout. In an interview with Robert Downey, Jr., Downey praised Black’s work on Iron Man 3.
Written and directed by Drew Pearce, Hotel Artemis appears to be a black comedy. After watching the movie trailer, Jody Foster plays a nurse running a secret, members-only emergency room hospital. She mainly cares for criminals set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles.
Watching Foster in the movie trailer, I can tell it is science fiction, dark comedy, as she bumbles around talking about following the rules. Her character is not comely and looks weathered.
The movie includes several talented actors such as Sofia Boutella, Jeff Goldblum, Zachary Quinto, and Sterling K. Brown. All appear as a bunch of misfits.
Drew Pearce credits include as executive producer of several televisions series like Damage Control and Lip Service. He received writer and screenplay credit, respectively, for Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and Iron Man 3.
Jodie Foster shines in this movie clip, as she will throughout the movie. I bet she had a great time performing as the nurse—a role made for her.
Filled with clips of different scenes is a movie trailer that is not telling us much, and I hope to see more footage so I can share it with you.
