“Frida” Documentary Trailer, Poster and Images

Ron Howard and his producing buddy Brian Grazer bring us an intimately raw and magical journey through the life, mind, and heart of iconic artist Frida Kahlo. Frida is told through her own words for the first time, drawn from her famed illustrated diary, revealing letters, essays, and candid print interviews — and brought vividly to life by lyrical animation inspired by her unforgettable artwork. The feature film directorial debut of acclaimed editor Carla Gutiérrez, Frida posits a striking context of why the artist—and her art—remains as powerful as ever.

Howard directed the documentary about legendary opera singer Luciano Pavarotti, and he’s continued the genre as a producer.

Covering over 40 years of her life, the filmmakers received unrestricted access to research materials, much never shown to the public before. What is extraordinary about Kahlo’s life and art is how her images would galvanize multiple generations of admirers worldwide, doing more than solidifying her status as a modern artist of timeless import.

In an intensive two-year journey, Gutiérrez and her formidable team of artisans, primarily women and proudly Latine, gathered together to craft a singular cinematic experience that could be no ordinary art history lesson. A living portrait emboldened by the magical realism befitting Kahlo’s remarkable life emerges. Yet, her voice ultimately stands supreme, a complex and powerful sound of many Fridas: fearless, seductive, defiant, vulnerable, raucous, and wonderfully alive.

Ron Howard’s “Pavarotti: Genius Is Forever” Trailer, Featurettes, Clips & Poster

Ron Howard brought together the same filmmaking team that forged the documentary The Beatles: Eight Days A Week – The Touring Years. Pavarotti takes the opera star’s talent, personality, and forbearance by lifting the curtain on the icon. We understand how he brought opera to the people.

The Oscar winner Howard trailer puts us in the front row for an “exploration of The Voice… The Man… The Legend. Luciano Pavarotti gave his life to music and a voice to the world. This cinematic event features history-making performances and intimate interviews, including never-before-seen footage.”

They all brought Dolby ATMOS technology into production, a fancy way of saying a whole new technology that makes the presentation even better.

The movie clip shows Princess Diana in the audience, outside in the pouring rain. She looks delighted and spectacular—a memorable moment in this extraordinary documentary.

The following featurettes show Pavarotti’s ambition and desire to spread opera worldwide. He wanted to give it to the people, as he felt opera was for the people.

The following two movie clips are about Bono’s relationship with Pavarotti and how he was a master at developing relationships with anyone.

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” Trailers, Featurettes, Interview, and Posters

Directed by Ron Howard, we learn about the early years of one of Star Wars most beloved heroes – Hans Solo.  Plenty of posters, movie clips, featurettes, and trailers are posted here for you to peruse. You can start with the teaser trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The movie boards the Millennium Falcon and journeys to a galaxy far, far away in an all-new adventure with the one of the most known about scoundrel in the galaxy. The movie is a story about Han Solo, played by Alden Ehrenreich, at the beginning of his adventures in Star Wars.

The Blu-ray and DVD are on the streets with streaming available as well. Check out the trailer promoting the next phase of seeing Solo: The Star Wars Story.

Remember, the special featurettes will be worth the purchase.

I am looking forward to having this movie package as part of my personal library.  The Star Wars franchise is such a pleasure and exciting part of the entertainment industry.

Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo befriends his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, played by Donald Glover. The story will set the course for one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

The screenplay is written by Lawrence Kasdan and his son, Jon Kasdan, which means it will be a great story.  Senior Kasdan is very familiar with the Star Wars series.  He wrote Empires Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Force Awakens.

The also stars Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Paul Bettany.

The next featurette came out the day of the US opening night. It offers even more information about the characters and the story.

I am posting Ron Howard’s interview because he articulates the story and cinematic approach to making a movie about Han Solo. He talks about working with George Lucas and the production team.

Becoming Solo featurette tells a bit more about the story in terms of the Empire.

Here is a super cool tour of the Falcon. Donald Glover is the tour guide.

The second trailer tells more of the story, and it appears Han Solo gets involved with some ruffians.

“The Dark Tower” Trailer and Clips

Directed by Nikolaj Arcel, I have not read many Stephen King’s books, so I am not familiar with The Dark Tower storyline or whether it follows the book at all.

Though, I am intrigued to see a young boy telling a story to a therapist of some sort. There are some talented people behind the camera and in front of the camera as well. Ron Howard is one of the producers.

The story follows a gunslinger, played by Idris Elba,  and we are told there are other worlds than these, which is not that ambitious these days.  Other worlds are quite common in the movie industry.

Still, it is an expansive story from one of the world’s most celebrated authors, and now it is headed to the big screen.  So, the last Gunslinger, known as Roland Deschain, has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim, also known as the Man in Black, played by Matthew McConaughey, determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black.

Also in the cast is Jackie Earle Haley, who is fondly known for playing Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise movies.

It really sounds like dark fantasy where kids tell the story late a night during a sleepover.  I sure it will do well at the box office because King has a legion of fans.
