Co-written and directed by Shawn Christensen, The Vanishing of Sidney Hall is an intense mystery that follows a detective, played by Kyle Chandler, who is looking for Sidney Hall, played by Logan Lerman.
After publishing a bestselling novel based on the death of one of his high school classmates, known as a controversial writer, Hall finds himself catapulted to unexpected fame and prestige.
His relationship with his girlfriend, played by Elle Fanning, begins to fall apart as the dark consequences of the book intrude on their life together, and he disappears without a trace. Except, his books are connected to a string of mysterious arsons. Nearly a decade later, the detective searches for the missing author.
Christensen won an Oscar in 2013 for his short film Curfew. He keeps himself busy with an indie rock band, and he wrote some screenplays including Before I Disappear, Cul de Sac, and Karma Coalition.
The movie trailer is intense and drew me in as I watched it. I hope the movie is as good as the trailer. With such a great cast, I can’t see why it wouldn’t be good.
