The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” Trailers, Images and Posters

Based on the beloved book and directed by Dallas Jenkins, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever follows a small town’s attempt to produce the 75th Annual Christmas Pageant.

The Herdman kids decide to be in the pageant even though they’ve never stepped into the community church. The Herdmans are absolutely the worst kids in the history of the world.

Valley Girl

“Valley Girl” Goes Mainstream Musical on the Edge

watch valley girl as a musical

Directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg, Valley Girl sets it’s the pace to a rock ‘n roll ’80s soundtrack. A soundtrack produced by legendary Harvey Mason, Jr. with dance numbers by choreographer Mandy Moore, Valley Girl, is a musical adaptation of the classic 1983 hit film that became a cult icon.  The movie streams digitally on Amazon as well as on other platforms.

Julie, played by Jessica Rothe, is the ultimate ’80s Valley Girl. A creative free spirit, Julie’s time is spent with her best friends shopping at the Galleria mall and making plans for senior prom. That is until she falls hard for Randy, played by Joshua Whitehouse, who is a Sunset Strip punk rocker and challenges everything the Valley and Julie stand for. Despite push-back from friends and family, Julie must break out of the safety of her world to follow her heart and discover what it means to be a Valley Girl.

Camila Marrone and Alicia Silverstone star in Valley Girl.

The movie also stars Jessie Ennis, Ashleigh Murray, Chloe Bennet, Logan Paul, Mae Whitman, Mario Revolori, Rob Huebel, Judy Greer, Alicia Silverstone, and Camila Morrone.

“Playing with Fire” Trailer, Clips, and Poster

Directed by Andy Fickman, Playing with Fire is a comedy about firemen and kids. When straight-laced fire superintendent Jake Carson, played by John Cena, and his elite team of expert firefighters, played by Keegan-Michael Key, John Leguizamo, and Tyler Mane, come to the rescue of three siblings, played by Brianna Hildebrand, Christian Convery, and Finley Rose Slater, in the path of an encroaching wildfire, they quickly realize that no amount of training could prepare them for their most challenging job yet – babysitters.

Unable to locate the children’s parents, the firefighters have their lives, jobs, and even their fire depot turned upside down and quickly learn that kids – much like fires –are wild and unpredictable.

Fickman’s credits include Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, several episodic television comedies, and Race to Witch Mountain starring Dwayne Johnson.

Dan Ewen and Matt Lieberman wrote the screenplay.

The following two movie clips show how cute and ridiculous the movie gets. Kids will probably love it.

The following clips are funny, cute, and ridiculous.

“Where’d You Go, Bernadette?” Trailers, Featurette, and Posters

I decided to place the second poster above the first poster because it illustrates the movie better.

Co-written and directed by Richard Linklater, Where’d You Go, Bernadette? focuses on
15-year-old Bee, played by Emma Nelson, after her stressed-out mother, played by Cate Blanchett, disappears.  Bee does everything in her power to track her down, discovering her mother’s troubled past in the process.

The movie is available on Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming sites. It’s a fun movie to watch about family, being a mother, and coming to terms with destiny.

Holly Gent and Vince Palmo co-wrote the screenplay based on the book of the same name by Maria Semple. Linklater’s credits include writing and producing. His last well-known movie is Boyhood

Blanchett is a stick of dynamite, an award-winning actress, and Bernadette is another explosive role for her to play.  A talented cast surrounds her, including Judy Greer, Kristen Wiig, Laurence Fishbourne, and Billy Crudup.

The second trailer draws you in and includes how much fun the movie is to watch. Blanchett is coming from so many levels as Bernadette. It is delightful to watch. Mothers who put their careers aside for marriage and family will find companionship.

I am adding Blanchett’s soundbites concerning the movie because any mother and daughter can relate to this movie.

Watching the featurette compels me to read the book. I agree with the director. Bernadette is not crazy; the world is crazy.

“Ant-Man and the Wasp” Trailers, Poster, and Blu-ray/DVD

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and The Wasp comes from Marvel. The story is a new age of superheroes that can shrink. Ant-Man arrived in Captain America: Civil War. Scott Lang contends with the values of his choices as both a superhero and a father. He tackles the complexity of home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man.

He confronts Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with a crucial mission. Scott dons the suit and learns to fight alongside The Wasp. As a team, they work together and discover secrets from the past.

The movie has an impressive cast such as Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Douglas.
The Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming are live and ready for your viewing.

Paul Rudd contributed to the screenplay. He’s joined by Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Andrew Barrer, and Gabriel Ferrari. Reed helmed two other movies. The sleeper hit Bring It On, a cheerleading competition stars Kirsten Dunst. He also directed Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn in The Break-up.

“Halloween” Trailers, Featurettes, Movie Clips, and Poster

Co-written and directed by David Gordon Green, Jamie Lee Curtis returns to one of her best roles in the movies. Laurie Strode comes to her ultimate confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

John Carpenter will not direct this time but will executive produce and serve as a creative consultant. The rest of the cast includes Judy Greer, Will Patton, Nick Castle, Andi Matichak and Omar J. Dorsey.

Following Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a fresh path from the events in the groundbreaking 1978 movie.

Forty years ago, Michael Myers went after Laurie Strode in the original Halloween. There are two featurettes focusing on the original movie. One featurette focuses on how the production team dealt with making the Myer’s mask look older. In the next featurette, the cast, crew and director share their stories when they first saw the original Halloween.

Now, the movie is available on Blu-ray, DVD, and is streaming. Purchase your copy and keep it in your library, so you can play it every Halloween or whenever you need a dose of Myers stalking Jamie Lee Curtis.

Here are a couple of movie clips with Michael Myers. He hasn’t changed over the last 40 years in prison.

The movie clip below shows how intense the movie will get when Laurie Strode confronts Michael Myers.

The featurette is so much fun to watch. Curtis is one of my favorite actors.

The second trailer is better than the first. I see some familiar faces.

Jamie Lee Curtis is fantastic in the movie trailer. This is going to be a fun and horrific movie.
