Adult Movie: “Strays” Trailers, Featurettes, Clips and Poster

Not a kid’s movie. In that case, it might be time for some sweet revenge, doggy style.

When Reggie, played by Will Ferrell, a naïve, relentlessly optimistic Border Terrier, becomes an abandoned dog. He’s left on the mean city streets by his lowlife owner, Doug, played by Will Forte. Reggie is sure that his beloved owner will never leave him on purpose.

Reggie falls in with a fast-talking, foul-mouthed Boston Terrier named Bug, played by Jamie Foxx, a stray who loves his freedom and believes owners are for suckers. Reggie finally realizes Doug is in a toxic relationship and sees Doug for the heartless sleazeball that he is.

Determined to seek revenge, Reggie, Bug and Bug’s pals—Maggie, played by Isla Fisher, a brilliant Australian Shepherd whose owner’s new puppy has sidelined, and Hunter, played by Randall Park, an anxious Great Dane who’s stressed out by his work as an emotional support animal. Together, the dogs hatch a plan and embark on an epic adventure to help Reggie find his way home and make Doug pay by biting off the appendage he loves the most.

Funny!!

Genuine and Beautiful “Soul” Trailers, Featurettes and Poster

Co-written by Mike Jones, Pete Docter, and Kemp Powers and directed by Docter and Powers, Soul approaches a subject we know about intrinsically but perhaps not totally or assuredly know. We are a spirit or soul, not our body.

Pixar brings the topic to the movie in which the storyline is hush-hush in the early days of promotion. The voice actors include Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, John Ratzenberger, and Ahmir-Khalib Thompson.

A jazz musician, voiced by Foxx, lost his passion for playing music. But bounces back when he nails a gig. Then, unfortunately, he mysteriously transports out of his body. While out of his body, he must find his way back with the help of an infant soul learning about herself.

Known for the episodic Star Trek: Discovery, Powers has made a foot in the film industry. Recognized for several Pixar-related movies, Docter’s most notable is Toy Story, including UPInside Out, and Wall-E.

Watching the next trailer confirms my excitement, and I look forward to seeing this movie because the message is so prevalent.

Robin Hood Trailers, Featurette, Movie Clips, and Posters

Directed by Otto Bathurst,  another Robin Hood movie arrives on the silver screen.  I recommend you watch the trailer because the movie is full of slow motion and action sequences.  Some claim Robin Hood as a superhero, but I rather think of him as a legend – mythical legend.

The latest version is about the war-hardened crusader, played by Taron Egerton, and his Moorish commander, played by Jamie Foxx.  They mount a strong revolt against the corrupt English crown.

Jamie Dornan of Fifty Days of Grey movies also stars as Will.  Watching the trailer, I cannot tell if he is a friend or foe of Robin Hood.

Eve Hewson plays Maid Marian.  I hope she is smarter than she appears in the trailer. I am banking on she is smarter and helps Robin Hood instead of only adding to the romance of the story.

The movie clip shows how John is a father figure. Robin Hood is learning from him and the details of overthrowing the Sheriff.

The studio is promoting the movie as a thriller and action-adventure, which includes gritty battlefield triumphs, mind-blowing fight choreography (slow motion), and a timeless romance.

The movie clip “Law and Order” lets us see the sheriff as a villain, which we know from the classic story by Howard Pyle.

In the “Training” movie clip, we see Egerton and Foxx work together creating a scene that shows Robin Hood and John building a relationship based on who is more capable of training who.

The final poster shows the eclectic quality of the cast with a nostalgia in reminiscent to the popcorn movies of the late 70s and early 80s.

The featurette is impressive and shows how hard Egerton worked to master his archery. I watched his teacher, who is in the featurette, on YouTube and he is an impressive archer. I learned that during the ancient times the archers were as fast as we see them shooting in the featurette.  That makes the movie a bit more realistic than its predecessors. Egerton sings a bit for fun on the set, and his voice is fantastic.  Foxx looks like he enjoys himself way too much on the set.

Otto Bathurst cut his teeth as an episodic director for binge-watching streaming shows like Black Mirror and Criminal Justice.

The third trailer is here and still seems to be like most Robin Hood movies.

The second trailer is not doing justice to the movie. Let’s hope for the best and the movie turns out great.

Robin Hood is available on Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming online. Once again, another movie about Robin Hood. The tale is told over and over again. This time the story is quite different from the original and other versions. I am impressed with the archery but the rest of the story varies too much for me to be excited about it.

“Baby Driver” Poster, Trailer & Clips

Directed by Edgar Wright, Baby Driver follows a talented young getaway driver, played by Ansel Elgort, whom I adored in The Fault in Our Stars, relies on the beat of his soundtrack to be the best in the game. When he meets the girl of his dreams, played by Lily James, Baby sees a chance to ditch his criminal life and make a clean getaway. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss, played by Kevin Spacey, he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love, and freedom.

Here is another poster, and I like this one better because it shows the cast. The cast is stellar. The movie is available on Amazon

It is a fun trailer to watch.
