Directed by Joachim Rønning, story by Linda Woolverton, and the screenplay by Woolverton, Micah Fitzerman-Blue, and Noah Harpster, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil follows Maleficent. Played by Angelina Jolie and her goddaughter Aurora, played by Elle Fanny, begin to question the complex family ties that bind them. Being pulled in different directions, they face the impending nuptials, unexpected allies, and dark new forces at play.
A fantasy story begins several years after Maleficent. The story continues to discover the different relationships between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen. They develop more alliances while facing new enemies in their agony and hardship to protect the moors and the magical creatures that live within the forest.
The movie is available on Amazon. and I recommend you get it because it is a strong story and entertaining.
Screenwriters Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster worked together on the episodic show Transparency and A Beautiful Place in the Neighborhood with Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers.
The movie also stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Ed Skrein.

Wes Tooke wrote the story based on the real-life events of heroic feats. The leaders and soldiers used their wits, instincts, courage, and bravery to overcome the odds and defeat the Japanese.
The movie’s huge cast is stellar.
Some of the top brass in the movie are Lieutenant Commander Wade McClusky, played by Luke Evans, Edwin Layton, played by Patrick Wilson, Admiral William “Bull” Halsey, played by Dennis Quad, and Admiral Chester Nimitz, played by Woody Harrelson. The rest of the cast includes Aaron Eckhart, Nick Jonas, Etsushi Toyokawa, Tadanobu Asano, Luke Kleintank, Jun Kunimura, Darren Criss, Keean Johnson, Alexander Ludwig, and Mandy Moore.
Emmerich directing credits are rich with grandiose movies like The Day After Tomorrow and Independence Day. Tooke writing credits include episodic TV shows like Colony and Jean-Claude Van Johnson.

Directed by Barry Jenkins, If Beale Street Could Talk, is set in early-1970s Harlem as a timeless and moving love story of both a couple’s unbreakable bond and the African-American family’s empowering embrace, as told through the eyes of 19-year old Tish Rivers, played by KiKi Layne. Tish is a daughter and wife-to-be. She vividly recalls the passion, respect and trust connect her and her artist fiancé Alonzo Hunt, who goes by the nickname Fonny, played by Stephan James. Friends since childhood, the devoted couple dream of a future together but their plans are derailed when Fonny is arrested for a crime he did not commit.
The movie clip shows how sharp and poignant the movie comes across.

Tish knows that Fonny is innocent, and is mindful that his good friend Daniel Carty, played by Brian Tyree Henry, was recently freed after an unjust incarceration. The undercurrents fill the story including the couple’s unborn child, whose arrival will herald new joys and challenges. Facing the unexpected prospect of parenthood and holding down a job without her partner at her side. Tish must adjust her perspective on the realities of her existence. She visits Fonny regularly, trying to shore up his spirit even as prison takes its toll. As the weeks turn to months, Tish reaffirms their hopes and resilience, relying on familial and inner strength.
If Beale Street Could Talk is based on a book by James Baldwin, charting the vivid emotional currents navigated in an unforgiving and racially biased world as the Jenkins poetically crosses time frames to show how love and humanity endure.
The talented cast also includes Brian Tyree Henry, Michael Beach, Ed Skrein, Diego Luna, Dave Franco, and Pedro Pascal.
The song playing in the background might seem cheesy to some but I like it because it shows how poetic and deep their lives are intertwined. Just beautiful – true love.
Jenkins won an Oscar for directing Moonlight and Beale Street is his beautiful and poetic follow up. Watch the movie and be transformed.
The Blu-ray and DVD are hitting the streets with streaming available as well. The movie is poetry. If you haven’t seen it yet, now is your chance. It’s a beautiful love story about bigotry and family. Both disc sets have deleted scenes and featurettes about the making of the movie.

The movie clip is so cool to watch, yet you can see the CGI happening when and where. Still, Alita is dynamite.

She soon discovers a clue to her past when the deadly and corrupt forces that run the city come after her. If she can stay out of their grasp, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family, and the world she’s grown to love.

The 30 second commercial aired before the Superbowl kick-off. That cost the studio so pretty dollars. The TV spot shows a lot for such a short amount of time – the cast is stellar.
James Cameron articulates the story about Alita. He illuminates on how he enjoyed writing the screenplay with her in mind. The difficulty in finding flaws in Alita because she has no fear. He talks about working with Rodriguez and trying to get him to take the movie and make it his own.
Rodriguez talks about working with Cameron and wanting to make a Cameron movie. He has a tremendous amount of respect for Cameron and clearly wants to emulate his vision and talent.
