“The Foreigner” Poster and Trailer

From the director of Casino RoyaleThe Foreigner stars Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan. The action thriller follows a humble London businessman Quan, played by Jackie Chan. Whose long-buried past explodes into revenge fueled by terrorists when the only person left for him to love — his teenage daughter — taken from him in a senseless act of politically-motivated terrorism.

In his uncompromising search for the identity of the terrorists, Quan forced into a cat-and-mouse conflict with a British government official, played by Pierce Brosnan. His past holds clues to the names of the hard to pin down killers.

I have a hard time watching a movie where someone’s teenage daughter gets killed. With that, I am sure Chan is doing his own stunts. This role for Brosnan is refreshing to see.

“Kidnap” Trailer

Directed by Luis Prieto, Kidnap follows single mom Karla Dyson, played by Oscar winner Halle Berry. A typical afternoon in the park becomes a nightmare when Karla’s son suddenly disappears.

Without a cell phone and knowing she has no time to wait for police help, Karla jumps in her own car and sets off in pursuit of the kidnappers.

A relentless, edge-of-your-seat chase ensues, where Karla must risk everything to not lose sight of her son.

After watching the trailer, it is obvious the movie is an intense, action-fueled thriller.

It is hard to imagine one mother’s heroic attempt to take back her son leads her to ask herself how far she will go to save her child.

“American Made” Trailer

Tom Cruise makes movies that are worth watching because there is so much that happens in his movies, and he works with the best in the industry. He has said in interviews he likes to entertain his audience. That he does.

Directed by Doug Liman, American Made follows Cruise’s character as he juggles in this international escapade based on the outrageous (and real) exploits of a hustler and pilot unexpectedly recruited by the CIA to run one of the biggest covert operations in U.S. history.

Based on a true story, Liman and Cruise worked together on Edge of Tomorrow, the movie co-stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sarah Wright, E. Roger Mitchell, Jesse Plemons, Lola Kirke, Alejandro Edda, Benito Martinez, Caleb Landry Jones, and Jayma Mays.

Liman other credits include The Bourne Identity and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Watching this trailer, I know this movie is going to be a rocket ride, never a dull moment. Just too much fun with lots of talented people in front of and behind the camera.

The Willpower of Revealing “American Assassin” Trailer and Clips

Directed by Michael Cuesta, American Assassin stars Dylan O’Brien, who is known for starring in MTV’s Teenwolf and Maze Runner movies. The story follows black ops recruit Mitch Rapp, played by O’Brien. He reels from the death of his fiancée in a terrorist attack when he is assigned to shadowy C.I.A. figure Stan Hurley, played by Michael Keaton, to receive special training in tracking terrorists.

Rapp and Hurley then dispatched to join a Turkish agent on a mission to stop a mysterious operative from unleashing chaos of international proportions.

Michael Cuesta is directing his first major box office movie. He is best known for directing and producing the T.V. series Homeland and independent films such as L.I.E. and Kill the Messenger.

The Blu-ray and DVD are on the streets, so enjoy these clips.

The trailer looks good, and the movie is promising. I will be taking my teenage daughter to see it the first weekend it opens.

Mitch Rapp’s character is in 16 books written by Vince Flynn, so O’Brien’s career is looking mighty fine and flourishing.

Here is the Redband trailer, fantastic.

Here is the Greenband trailer, enjoy!

“Wish Upon” Storyline

Directed by John R. Leonetti, the Wish Upon arrives twelve years after discovering her mother’s suicide. The movie follows seventeen-year-old Clare Shannon, played by Joey King, is not only bullied in high school, embarrassed by her manic, hoarder father Jonathan, played by Ryan Phillippe, but ignored by her longtime crush.

Yet, all that changes when her father comes home with an old music box whose inscription promises to grant its owner seven wishes. While Clare is initially skeptical of this magic box, she can’t help but be seduced by its dark powers and is thrilled as her life radically improves with each wish.

But, finally, she has the life she’s always wanted, and everything seems perfect – until the people closest to her begin dying in violent and elaborate ways after each wish. Oh….now the plot thickens.

Clare realizes that she must get rid of the box but finds herself unable and unwilling to part with her new and improved life—leading her down a dark and dangerous path.

“Baby Driver” Poster, Trailer & Clips

Directed by Edgar Wright, Baby Driver follows a talented young getaway driver, played by Ansel Elgort, whom I adored in The Fault in Our Stars, relies on the beat of his soundtrack to be the best in the game. When he meets the girl of his dreams, played by Lily James, Baby sees a chance to ditch his criminal life and make a clean getaway. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss, played by Kevin Spacey, he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love, and freedom.

Here is another poster, and I like this one better because it shows the cast. The cast is stellar. The movie is available on Amazon

It is a fun trailer to watch.

“Collide” Interview With Hoult and Jones

Directed by Eran Creevy, Collide follows a young American couple plunged into an adrenaline-pumping game of cat and mouse across Europe. They find themselves caught between two ruthless, feuding criminals.

The movie stars Nicholas Hoult, Oscar nominee Felicity Jones, and Oscar winners Anthony Hopkins and Ben Kingsley.

The wild, intricately folded, twisted story begins after a heist goes wrong. Casey Stein, played by Hoult, finds himself running from a ruthless gang headed by mob boss Hagen, played by Hopkins. Now Casey has precious cargo that belongs to Hagen, who will stop at nothing to retrieve it. Left with no choice, Casey calls his former employer and drug smuggler Geran, played by Kingsley, to protect his long-time girlfriend Juliette, played by Jones, before Hagen gets his hands on her. Casey sets out on an adrenaline-fueled car chase on the German highways to save the love of his life before it’s too late.

An excellent interview shows the chemistry of the actors Nicholas Hoult and Felicity Jones.

During the promotion and film release, some clips showed the intensity and craziness. After watching the trailer, I sense a twist in the story at the end. Don’t you?

“The Fate of the Furious” Trailer

Directed by F. Gary Gray, The Fate of the Furious begins where Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon, and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew—exonerated, the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman, played by Charlize Theron, seduces Dom into the world of crime, he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos the world’s stage… and to bring home the man who made them a family.

Also joining Vin Diesel is a returning all-star cast that includes Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky, and Kurt Russell. Besides Theron, the series welcomes newcomers Scott Eastwood and Helen Mirren.

Another exceptional trailer that I like.

The Super Bowl Ad is an entire minute.

“The Circle” Trailers and Poster

the-circle-posterBased on the international bestseller by Dave Eggers and directed by James Ponsoldt, The Circle stars Emma Watson and Tom Hanks. What a combination to behold. Watson’s career is really doing well after her Harry Potter days.

The Circle is a thrilling modern morality tale following Mae, played by Watson, as she rises through the ranks of the world’s largest tech and social media company. She’s encouraged by company founder Eamon Bailey, played by Hanks, to live her life with complete transparency. But no one is safe when everyone is watching.

The trailer seems a bit convoluted without giving the story away or reading the book.  It is hard to tell what is happening, but I can’t agree more with the idea that knowledge is power.

The story looks intense, and  Emma Watson appears well with Tom Hanks.

“Passengers” Trailer, Poster, Movie Clips

passengers-posterDirected by Morten Tyldum, Passengers follows Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in an exciting action-thriller about two passengers on a 120-year journey to another planet when their hibernation pods wake them 90 years too early.

Jim and Aurora come to terms of being forced to unravel the mystery behind the malfunction as the ship teeters on the brink of collapse, with the lives of thousands of passengers in jeopardy.

This clip is amazing. I love the swimsuit.

This clip is intense, so I am guessing this is an action science fiction movie. I speculate that the bad guy is the spacecraft.
