“Halloween” Trailers, Featurettes, Movie Clips, and Poster

Co-written and directed by David Gordon Green, Jamie Lee Curtis returns to one of her best roles in the movies. Laurie Strode comes to her ultimate confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

John Carpenter will not direct this time but will executive produce and serve as a creative consultant. The rest of the cast includes Judy Greer, Will Patton, Nick Castle, Andi Matichak and Omar J. Dorsey.

Following Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a fresh path from the events in the groundbreaking 1978 movie.

Forty years ago, Michael Myers went after Laurie Strode in the original Halloween. There are two featurettes focusing on the original movie. One featurette focuses on how the production team dealt with making the Myer’s mask look older. In the next featurette, the cast, crew and director share their stories when they first saw the original Halloween.

Now, the movie is available on Blu-ray, DVD, and is streaming. Purchase your copy and keep it in your library, so you can play it every Halloween or whenever you need a dose of Myers stalking Jamie Lee Curtis.

Here are a couple of movie clips with Michael Myers. He hasn’t changed over the last 40 years in prison.

The movie clip below shows how intense the movie will get when Laurie Strode confronts Michael Myers.

The featurette is so much fun to watch. Curtis is one of my favorite actors.

The second trailer is better than the first. I see some familiar faces.

Jamie Lee Curtis is fantastic in the movie trailer. This is going to be a fun and horrific movie.

“Traffik” Trailer, Clips, and Poster

Written and directed by Deon Taylor, Traffik follows Brea, played by Paula Patton, and John, played by Omar Epps They are taking a romantic weekend in the mountains and run into some major trouble.

The thriller spends most of the time in an isolated and remote estate, but the couple is dumbfounded by the arrival of two friends, Darren, played by Laz Alonso, and Malia, played by Roselyn Sanchez.

Just when the weekend starts to get back on track, a violent biker gang turns up and begins to torment them. The foursome is forced to fight for their lives against the gang who will stop at nothing to protect their secrets.

The Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming are available now. This movie is a horror movie in its own right.  In other words, it is intense and scary.

The movie clip shows their endearing relationship.

The movie clip shows how dangerous the story is getting.

We have a nice car chase.

This movie makes it clear that these two couples had no plans but to have fun.

Watching the trailer, the movie seems more of a horror movie than a thriller with the gruesome-looking female at their door. There is a kind of haunting undertone to the overall trailer.

“No Solicitors” Trailer and Poster

Written and directed by John Callas, No Solicitors is a creepy, campy horror movie with a thread of political satire. It was a Fright Night and Scare-A-Con Film Festival Winner.

The movie follows Lewis Cutterman, played by Eric Roberts. He is a well-respected brain surgeon who is happily married with two beautiful children and runs the family business. They seem like model citizens within the community.

An invitation to dinner greets a typical visit to their home by a real estate agent. The except dinner takes a macabre turn when the solicitor finds herself drugged by the family.

Gradually, she wakes up. The solicitor soon discovers that the kid’s family business is to farm out their internal organs to needy patients.

Callas fills the movie with eye candy and silly, offbeat humor. My husband was a solicitor, and I understand the need to make a living. But solicitors can be annoying. No Solicitors put a new creepiness to door-to-door salespeople.

“The Strangers: Prey at Night” Posters and Trailer

Directed by Johannes Roberts and co-written by Bryan Bertino and Ben Ketai, The Strangers: Prey at Night follows a family on a road trip as it turns into a dangerous horrific trip when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park. The plan is to stay with relatives but find the place deserted, which is as puzzling as most horror movie stories play to the end.

Under the creepy night of darkness, three masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test the family’s limit, as it drove them to the verge of insanity as they struggle to survive.

They inspired the horror movie after the 2008 horror winner, The Strangers, about a young couple being tested by three masked assailants. Bertino directed and co-wrote the movie, and co-wrote Prey at Night.

The trailer is horrific so enjoy the terror.

“Truth or Dare” Poster, Trailer, Clips

Directed by Jeff Wadlow, Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare is a horror movie. The movie follows Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars and Tyler Posey of Teen Wolf.

It appears to be a harmless game of “Truth or Dare” among friends and turns deadly when someone—or something—begins to punish those who tell a lie—or refuse the dare.

The movie clip gives an important point in the story about how the game is played. There is a worldwide block on this clip so you might not be able to see it.  If you can, it is worth watching.

The movie clip shows the seriousness of the supernatural cure on the game truth or dare.

The movie clip shows how the entity twists with Olivia’s, played by Hale, reality and she blurts out truths or perhaps dares. It is not a harmless game.

Here is a movie clip that explains more of the tale about the game following them home.

Tremendous Horror “Slender Man” Poster and Trailers

Directed by Sylvain White, the horror movie Slender Man follows four high school girls in a small town in Massachusetts. The girls perform a ritual in an attempt to reveal the lore of Slender Man.

One of the girls mysteriously disappears, and the other three suspect she is truly Slender Man’s latest victim.

The cast includes Joey King, Julia Goldani-Telles, Jaz Sinclair, Annalise Basso, and Javier Botet.

Based on a character created by Eric Knudsen, a.k.a. Victor Surge, Slender Man is a mythical character created by Surge via the Internet forum called Something Awful.

However, the movie is written for the screen by David Birke, who also scripted Elle and 13 Sins.

They edited the second trailer better than the first. The trailer tells the urban legend in much better circumstances. This trailer’s edits and camera work show how riveting the horror movie will be.

Watch the trailer, and you will see why horror fans will scream to see this movie.

“Winchester” Trailer, Poster, Interviews, Blu-ray/DVD Release

Directed by the Spierig brothers, Winchester looks like a true, fancy horror story. The movie follows Sarah Winchester, played by Oscar-winner Helen Mirren, who lives on an isolated stretch of land 50 miles outside of San Francisco, where the most haunted house in the world is built. Sarah Winchester is the heiress to the Winchester fortune from the famous Winchester rifles, and she continues to build her house 24/7. A true mania that lasts for decades.

But Sarah is not building for herself, for her niece, played by Sarah Snook or for the troubled Doctor Eric Price, played by Jason Clarke, whom she has summoned to the house. She is building a prison, an asylum for hundreds of vengeful ghosts. The most terrifying among them have a score to settle with the Winchesters.

The Winchester house is a well-known tourist attraction. Even though I live in Northern California, I have never visited this house, but friends have told me about it, and I have seen the billboards around Interstate 80 promoting the Winchester House as a mysterious home, with nothing about it being haunted.

The Winchester Blu-ray/DVD is available, and I recommend you stream or buy it.

Great interview with the directors. They explain the story and the life of Sarah Winchester. They even cover that it is a horror movie, and I wonder if it is haunted.

The trailer shows a horror movie at its best. This movie will be fun, especially with Mirren in the starring role.

“Annihilation” Trailers, Featurette, Poster

The poster is pretty but doesn’t say much about the movie. If you read the book, you know what you are in for. We just hope it is a worthwhile adaptation.

Written for the Screen and Directed by Alex Garland, Annihilation is based on the novel by Jeff VanderMeer – Southern Reach Trilogy.  The movie stars Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny, and Oscar Isaac.

Slimmer Featurette interviews Natalie Portman and Jennifer Jason Leigh and offers more insight into the storyline.

It’s good to see Jennifer Jason Leigh in this movie.

I watched the movie last night on Prime. Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and the rest of the cast are fantastic. Gina Rodriguez is making a name for herself and starring in several movies of late.

The special effects held its own because I know it’s all green screen. The story is visceral, so without reading the book, it’s hard to track what is real and what is imagined. Each character holds a difficulty close to their chest, which sends them on this “self-destruct” mission.

The creatures the women encounter on their mission brings a horrific layer to the story. They are trying to get to the lighthouse where all their answers will be found. But, that doesn’t happen, which is paradox that makes the movie weak.

The movie is based on a trilogy, and the ending indicates there is more to come. I am curious if that will happen based on the box office returns.

“A Quiet Place” Trailers, Featurette, TV Spot, Poster, Final Trailer

Directed by John Krasinski, A Quiet Place is a supernatural horror movie teaming up husband and wife, Krasinski and Emily Blunt. The movie also stars the Millicent Simmonds of Wonderstruck. The trailer is eerie but beautifully shot. The overall plot is being kept under wraps.

There is a sinister shadow in the poster. I am not quite sure why she is in the bathtub.  If you have seen the movie, you know why, creepy.

The Blu-ray and DVD hit the streets and is streaming as well.

The TV spot promotes this as the final trailer. This trailer shows us everything about the movie. If you had doubts it was scary, well, no more doubts. This movie is intense – a rocket ride to horror.

The second trailer is more intense and scary. It tells you what the story is about and how the family tries everything to be quiet.  We also find out Emily Blunt’s character is expecting a baby.

The TV Spot arrived. It’s a condensed version of the trailer, but I like it.

The featurette shows John Krasinski talk about the movie and explains what happens in the movie and the overall storyline.
