“Welcome to Marwen” Trailers, Movie Clips, Featurettes, & Poster

Directed by Robert Zemeckis, this unbelievable true story follows Mark Hogancamp, played by Steve Carell, in an original story about a man who fought back from his fears after a devastating attack. Only Zemeckis can helm this miraculous story of one broken man’s fight as he discovers how artistic imagination can restore the human spirit.

The terrible attack entirely wipes Hogancamp memories of his life. There is no chance of ever recovering from this torment. Through art, he puts together pieces from his old and new life, and Mark meticulously creates a wondrous town where he can heal and be heroic.
He builds a world of art that protects him from his own worst memories of his attack. The movie focuses on the testament to the most powerful females he knows—through his fantasy world, he draws strength to triumph in the real one.

Welcome to Marwen is available on disc and streams on movie outlets

Here are some more movie clips that show how the brilliance of this movie and story. I saw some of the behind the scenes footage of them shooting the doll scenes, amazing.

The featurette explains the story and the premise behind what Mark, Carell’s character does to keep his sanity, healing by using his imagination.

The stellar cast includes Leslie Mann, Diane Kruger, Merritt Wever, Janelle Monáe, Eiza González, and Gwendolyn Christie, Leslie Zemeckis, and Neil Jackson.

The third trailer is much better and tells the real story.

The second trailer tells more of the story and shows how Hogancamp relates to each character in this true story.

Watch the trailer, and you will visually see how Zemeckis creates a world so unique and prolific for all to see and understand how art and imagination can save a soul.

The featurette explains how Marwen built his imaginary world, and from there is a story.

“Dumbo” Poster, Trailers, Interviews, Clips & Featurettes

Directed by Tim Burton, live-action Dumbo looks like one of the best movies for the whole family this year. I am sure the box office will be pleased. The screenplay is by Ehren Kruger, who wrote all those Transformer movies. I find that ironic because Dumbo is nothing like a Transformer.

I am glad the original theme song is part of the live-action movie. The cartoon movie is a classic with an extraordinary message about overcoming your handicap and succeeding. During the movie trailer, I never saw the mouse. But Pink Elephants on Parade is in the movie. The tiny clip in the trailer looks like the show will be fun to watch.

The movie stars Eva Green, Colin Farrell, and Michael Keaton. I am not sure who the kid actors are, but I look forward to learning more about them.

I wonder if the blackbirds will be in the movie as well. I love that scene, even though it doesn’t fit in with the PC standards of today. They are so funny with lines like, “I’ve seen a housefly. I’ve seen a horsefly. But, I have never seen an elephant fly.”

The second trailer is even better. Burton created a movie for kids to watch. By watching the second trailer, it appears the story becomes somewhat altered. A dad and other adults were not in the original Disney version. But, the adults seem to have a purpose in the movie, which makes it okay. The theme song is the same.

With that, there is a trailer. My YouTube account has a note that says it’s blocked worldwide. It might not play for you. I am sorry, but I had to write about this movie because Dumbo is one of my favorite Disney movies.

Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming are available for those who want to watch the movie again or haven’t seen it yet. The film is excellent for kids who want to see it repeatedly.

The featurette “Soaring to New Heights” offers quite a bit of information about the remake of Dumbo. I thought I saw a mouse in this video, and I am curious if the mouse plays an essential role in this new version. I sense that Danny Devito’s character fills that part of the story where the mouse encourages Dumbo to fly or the kids do.

Watching Tim Burton talk about Dumbo is impressive. He is so animated and a complete genius. Burton almost says something about working with Disney and stops. I wonder what he wanted to say about Disney.

The following movie clips show Dumbo flying, sinister DeVito and Keaton, and the kids, Farrell and Green.

The interview with Farrell shows him upbeat and excited about the movie and working with Burton.

Green talks about how she overcame the fear of heights to play the flying traipse artist. She talks about what it is like working with Burton and Keaton.

Michael Keaton tells it like it is in this interview with spoilers.

The featurette is magical, and I can’t wait to see the movie.

Dumbo is a magical story about a unique elephant who loses his mother. He must overcome the obstacles in life to be with his mother and succeed as himself. The next featurette expresses the brilliance of Burton and his magical world.

The next featurette arrives several days before the movie’s release in the US with all the interviews and footage combined.

“Suspiria” Trailers, Movie Clips, and Poster

Directed by Luca Guadagnino, who directed Call Me By Your Name, Suspiria takes place a the center of a world-renowned dance company. The dark movie follows the company’s artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist.

A fancy horror movie where some will succumb to the nightmare while others will finally wake up.

The movie stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Dakota Johnson, and Tilda Swinton.

The “Susie’s First Dance” movie clip shows a great intensity and I am not sure why Swinton’s character is drawn to come and watch Susie dance. Is it a telepathic message? Foreboding being sensed by Swinton’s character?

The movie clip shows the stress of being at this dance studio.  I am not quite sure what is happening yet.

Creepy, creepy and creepy is all I can write about the next trailer. No doubt in my mind, this is a horror, suspense movie.

These horror suspense movies always have me guessing what the movie is about. Watch the second trailer, and you will see what I mean.

The movie trailer protends something terrible happening with evil lurking in a small community.

“Future World” Trailer and Poster

Future World is a wild and nutty story directed by James Franco and Bruce Thierry Cheung. The movie arrives the inside a desert oasis. A queen, played by Lucy Liu, lies dying as her son Prince, played by Jeffrey Wahlberg, travels across barren wastelands to find a near-mythical medicine to save his mother’s life.

Prince evades violent raiders on motorbikes led by the Warlord, played by James Franco, and his enforcer, played by Cliff “Method Man” Smith. He meets Ash, played by Suki Waterhouse. Ash is the Warlord’s robot sex companion assassin. Her mission is to find her soul.

Druglord, played by Milla Jovovich, captures Prince. Warlord and his motorcycle forces roar in to attack them. With all that happening, Prince fights to save the remnants of humanity.

The cast includes Margarita Levieva, Snoop Dogg, and George Lewis Jr.

Cheung co-wrote the screenplay with Jeremy Craig Cheung and Jay Davis

It’s not the first time Cheung and Franco worked together. Cheung directed Franco in their 9-part series Making a Scene with James Franco.

If you think the plot sounds convoluted, watch the movie trailer. You will see an awful lot of craziness.

Robin Hood Trailers, Featurette, Movie Clips, and Posters

Directed by Otto Bathurst,  another Robin Hood movie arrives on the silver screen.  I recommend you watch the trailer because the movie is full of slow motion and action sequences.  Some claim Robin Hood as a superhero, but I rather think of him as a legend – mythical legend.

The latest version is about the war-hardened crusader, played by Taron Egerton, and his Moorish commander, played by Jamie Foxx.  They mount a strong revolt against the corrupt English crown.

Jamie Dornan of Fifty Days of Grey movies also stars as Will.  Watching the trailer, I cannot tell if he is a friend or foe of Robin Hood.

Eve Hewson plays Maid Marian.  I hope she is smarter than she appears in the trailer. I am banking on she is smarter and helps Robin Hood instead of only adding to the romance of the story.

The movie clip shows how John is a father figure. Robin Hood is learning from him and the details of overthrowing the Sheriff.

The studio is promoting the movie as a thriller and action-adventure, which includes gritty battlefield triumphs, mind-blowing fight choreography (slow motion), and a timeless romance.

The movie clip “Law and Order” lets us see the sheriff as a villain, which we know from the classic story by Howard Pyle.

In the “Training” movie clip, we see Egerton and Foxx work together creating a scene that shows Robin Hood and John building a relationship based on who is more capable of training who.

The final poster shows the eclectic quality of the cast with a nostalgia in reminiscent to the popcorn movies of the late 70s and early 80s.

The featurette is impressive and shows how hard Egerton worked to master his archery. I watched his teacher, who is in the featurette, on YouTube and he is an impressive archer. I learned that during the ancient times the archers were as fast as we see them shooting in the featurette.  That makes the movie a bit more realistic than its predecessors. Egerton sings a bit for fun on the set, and his voice is fantastic.  Foxx looks like he enjoys himself way too much on the set.

Otto Bathurst cut his teeth as an episodic director for binge-watching streaming shows like Black Mirror and Criminal Justice.

The third trailer is here and still seems to be like most Robin Hood movies.

The second trailer is not doing justice to the movie. Let’s hope for the best and the movie turns out great.

Robin Hood is available on Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming online. Once again, another movie about Robin Hood. The tale is told over and over again. This time the story is quite different from the original and other versions. I am impressed with the archery but the rest of the story varies too much for me to be excited about it.

“Early Man” Trailer and Movie Clips Blu-ray/DVD

Aardman Studio is an award-winning production company known for creating Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, and Shaun the Sheep movies.

Coming from the same studio, Early Man is just as fun as their earlier movies. This time it takes place during the prehistoric era: a caveman named Dug and his ultra-goofy friends. Together challenge the invaders to a game of soccer. If they win, they get back their home.

This is truly a kid’s movie because it is about innocence and idiots. The claymation is pure art and makes the movie fun to watch. The story took place at the dawn of time when prehistoric creatures roamed the Earth; Early Man tells the story of courageous caveman hero Dug, voiced by Eddie Redmayne, and his best friend, Hognob, as they unite their tribe against a mighty enemy. The enemy is Lord Nooth, expressed by Tom Hiddleston. He rules a Bronze Age City and has taken them home.

The Blu-ray and DVD packages have extensive special features. Never-before-seen featurettes reveal the love, passion, hard work, and magic that go into creating an Aardman Studios animated film.

These movie clips are funny – enjoy!

“Kin” Posters, Movie Clips, Featurette, and Trailer

Written and directed by Josh and Jonathan Baker, the movie is about a young man and his adopted teenage brother. A revengeful criminal chases them, the feds and a gang of otherworldly soldiers. The supernatural means it has a science fiction twist to the story. Dennis Quaid stars as the father, and Carrie Coon, James Franco, and Zoe Kravitz star.

The young man, played by Jack Reynor, is recently released from prison. He and his brother, Eli, played by Myles Truitt, are forced to run. They have a rifle-like weapon of mysterious origin that Eli found. They use the rifle effectively because it is super powerful and needs to fight off some bad guys.

The poster on the right shows more about the movie. The otherworldly aspect of the story is evident. Not much is being told about the overall story yet.

The movie is streaming and is available on Blu-ray and DVD. Now it is your turn to watch it on your device.

Just below the poster on the right is the motion poster for Kin.

The poster focuses on the young boy who finds the alien gun.

The featurette teaches what it takes to be a sound designer for a movie like Kin. I love this stuff.

The movie clip shows Zoe Kravitz in action.

The movie clip shows how the alien gun works.

The movie clip shares a plot point in the story. That is interesting because I can’t imagine someone leaving that much money at a bar.

I am not sure why the movie is called Kin. It could be about the relations between the brothers being kin even though they are not blood-related. The title could be referring to the powerful weapon. Just have to see the movie to find out.

The movie trailer tells the story and what the two brothers are up against.

“How to Talk to Girls at Parties” Poster and Trailer

Co-written and directed by John Cameron Mitchell, How to Talk to Girls at Parties is based on a short story written by Neil Gaiman. The movie follows Enn, played by Alex Sharp. Enn is a shy teenager living in a London suburb in 1977.

He sneaks out with his best friends to frequent punk parties. They misstep into a rather strange gathering of sexy teenagers. They seem like they are from another planet.

They are from another planet. They are visiting Earth to complete a mysterious rite of passage. Enn falls madly in love with Zan, played by Elle Fanning. Zan is a beautiful and unruly alien teenager. Even though she holds allegiance to her strange colony, she is captivated by Enn.

Zan and Enn jump into a delirious adventure through the kinetic punk rock world of 1970s London. In all, they set off a series of events leading to the ultimate showdown of punks vs. aliens, which tests the limits of how far each of them will go for true love.

Nicole Kidman also stars in this movie as a punk rocker.

The movie trailer is convoluted and crazy, with no rhyme to the story. Hopefully, another trailer and movie clip will be released, making it easier to understand and figure out what is happening.

“The Darkest Minds” Trailer, Movie Clip, Posters, Blu-ray/DVD

The Darkest Minds is produced by the people who brought us Stranger Things. Though, if you watch the trailer, I am a bit skeptical that it will be as good if not better than Netflix’s hit series.

Directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and based on the YA novel by Alexandra Bracken, the movie follows sixteen-year-old Ruby, played by Amandla Stenberg. She is one of the ablest and powerful teenagers ever encountered.

There are teens, like Ruby, who mysteriously develop powerful abilities. The government declares them a threat and detains them.  Ruby escapes her camp and joins a group of runaway teens seeking safe haven.

Soon her friends become her newfound family, in a world in which the adults in power have betrayed them, running is not enough and they must wage a resistance, using their collective power to take back control of their future.

The movie is streaming and the Blu-ray/DVD is released, so you can watch the movie in the comfort of your own home or on your device. The movie clip “Camp Dance” hit the Internet concurrently with the releases.  The clip shows a cool way to charm a mind reader during a camp dance.

The movie also stars Mandy Moore, Harris Dickenson, and Gwendoline Christie.

“Sherlock Gnomes” Trailer, Movie Clips and Poster

Directed by John Stevenson, Sherlock Gnomes is all too silly when Gnomeo, voiced by James McAvoy, and Juliet, voiced by Emily Blunt, arrive in the city with their friends and family. The major concern is establishing their new garden so it is ready by spring.

They soon discover that someone is kidnapping garden gnomes all over London. One day, Gnomeo and Juliet return home and find that everyone in their garden is missing. So, they hook up with Sherlock Gnomes, voiced by Johnny Depp, who is the famous detective and sworn protector of London’s garden gnomes.

He arrives with his sidekick Watson, voiced by Chiwetel Ejiofor, to investigate the case. The movie should be a fun adventure for the kids as they solve the case of the missing gnomes while exploring an undiscovered side of the city.

Other talented voice actors include Mary J. Blige as Irene, Sherlock’s former girlfriend. Michael Caine, as Lord Redbrick, the leader of the red gnomes, Juliet’s father, Maggie Smith as Lady Bluebury, the leader of the blue gnomes and Gnomeo’s mother, and Julie Walters as Ms. Montague.

Sherlock Gnomes is the sequel to the popular Gnomeo & Juliet, which grossed $194 million at the box office worldwide.
