Directed by Sam Esmail, I am excited about this Prime Video Series. Homecoming is a mind-bending psychological thriller. The story focuses on Heidi Bergman, played by Julia Roberts. She is a caseworker at the Homecoming Transitional Support Center, a Geist Group facility helping soldiers transition back to civilian life. Walter Cruz, played by Stephan James. He is one of these soldiers, eager to begin the next phase of his life. Overseeing Heidi and the facility is Colin Belfast, played by Bobby Cannavale. He is an ambitious company man whose manic behavior puts demands on questionable motives.
Four years later, Heidi has started a new life, living with her mother, played by Sissy Spacek. Heidi is working as a small-town waitress, when a Department of Defense auditor, played by Shea Whigham, comes to her with questions about why she left the Homecoming facility. Heidi begins to realize that there’s a whole other story behind the story she’s been telling herself.
The cast also includes Jeremy Allen White, Alex Karpovsky, Dermot Mulroney, among others. Here is a very short teaser trailer.
Directed by Robert Rodriguez, Alita: Battle Angel vision from not only Rodriguez but from filmmaker James Cameron. The movie is an epic tale about adventure, hope, and empowerment.
The movie clip is so cool to watch, yet you can see the CGI happening when and where. Still, Alita is dynamite.
Alita, played by Rosa Salazar, awakens with no memory of who she is in a future world she does not recognize. Ido, played by Christoph Waltz, takes care of her as a compassionate doctor who realizes that somewhere in this abandoned cyborg shell is the heart and soul of a young woman. A young woman with an extraordinary past.
As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious history while her street-smart new friend Hugo, played by Keean Johnson, offers instead to help trigger her memories.
She soon discovers a clue to her past when the deadly and corrupt forces that run the city come after her. She finds out about her unique fighting abilities, and those in power will stop at nothing to control her abilities. If she can stay out of their grasp, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family, and the world she’s grown to love.
The next trailer shows more of the story and what happens in the movie.
Directed by Robert Rodriguez, Alita: Battle Angel vision from not only Rodriguez but from filmmaker James Cameron.
The latest trailer shows more of the story and how she regains her superpowers.
The latest poster of Alita Rose is so cool and Gothic looking.
The Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming are available for those who missed it in the theater or want to see it again. The 4K format includes 3D.
The featurette praises Rosa Salazar’s work on camera, and they talk about the source for the movie.
The next movie clip shows Alita practicing her martial arts moves in front of a mirror. It appears she is starting to recall her past. She is realizing that she is one strong force to be reckoned.
I like the underworld, Borg-guy’s line “Dance little flea!”
The movie clip is very cool to watch and the CGI is amazing.
The featurette shares all the secrets of how they filmed the animated version of Alita. We hear from all the techies, including James Cameron, who envisioned her and the technology while making Avatar.
The 30 second commercial aired before the Superbowl kick-off. That cost the studio so pretty dollars. The TV spot shows a lot for such a short amount of time – the cast is stellar.
James Cameron articulates the story about Alita. He illuminates on how he enjoyed writing the screenplay with her in mind. The difficulty in finding flaws in Alita because she has no fear. He talks about working with Rodriguez and trying to get him to take the movie and make it his own.
Rodriguez talks about working with Cameron and wanting to make a Cameron movie. He has a tremendous amount of respect for Cameron and clearly wants to emulate his vision and talent.
Here is the star of the movie Rosa Salazar talking about Alita at the LA premiere.
The next two clips are a featurette and a movie clip about Motorball. The sport is part of the movie, and the featurette shows how the production brought it to the movie clip.
The next featurette is all about Alita. Who is she?
The music composer for Alita: Battle Angel, Junkie XL, song writing is amazing and it’s so cool to hear how he creates the movie for Alita and key scenes in the movie.
Written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, he brings collectively the tales of two of his champion originals— Unbreakable and Split. Combining the two movies into Glass, Shyamalan is calling the movie a comic-book thriller.
Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn and Samuel L. Jackson returns as Elijah Price with his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast.
After the finale of Split, Glass starts with Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of intensifying encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an arranger holding secrets vitally important for both men.
Sarah Paulson joins the cast as the psychiatrist treating these three men. Other cast members include Spencer Treat Clark and Charlayne Woodar.
The next trailer tells more of the story, which is rare for Shyamalan.
True to Shyamalan style of promoting his movies, he is not saying much about the movie and the trailer shows awkward edits and extreme action.
The first movie clip released, and I am still trying to understand the story behind this movie. In the interview I’ve watched, I get the idea they are superheroes at some level.
This movie is strange and unreal. I am not sure what Shyamalan is trying to accomplish in this story. One of the producers in an interview on my YouTube Channel said he wanted people to get the messages “Why are we hear?” “What is the meaning of life?” All I can say is this is a strange way to put it.
The movie clips show how Glass is trying to get these guys to do something. I am not sure what, though. This is a very different and strange movie about superheroes. The main point is this is real or unreal. I am not sure.
The next featurette sums up the last movie of the trilogy, and what M. Night Shyamalan had in mind when he decided to make this movie. It’s pretty clear you need to have seen Unbreakable because he refers to it in Glass quite a bit.
The three clips show more of the story and how James McAvoy’s character is the most important aspect of the movie. I am not sure I understand the movie, but McAvoy’s acting is incredible.
The next featurette shows more of McAvoy’s talent when Anya Cliparette visits with the Beast.
The Blu-ray/DVD is available with the movie streaming on the main platforms. I’ve heard mix reviews about the movie. If you haven’t seen it yet, now is your chance.
The bonus features are epic with a look at each main player in the story, and how they work within the framework of Shyamalan’s creation.
M. Night Shyamalan works with the same crew from film to film. The cast and crew share stories of working on his productions is like being with family. The Blu-ray or DVD is filled with deleted scenes and alternate ending.
Directed by Julius Avery and produced by J.J.Abrams, very little content is available regarding this movie. Their publicity department says “The story of two American soldiers behind enemy lines on D Day.”
Those words could mean anything about World War II, but watch the trailer and it is obvious Overlord, written by a couple of screenwriters, Billy Ray, and Mark L. Smith, is a horror movie. My feature image proves as well it is a horror movie.
Billy Ray wrote some impressive scripts from Shattered Glass to The Hunger Games. Mark L. Smith biggest credit is The Revenant. Overlord may prove to be a fruitful horror movie for fans of the genre.
Avery other movies include Son of a Gun and Jerrycan.
Overlord cast includes Wyatt Russell, Bokeem Woodbine, and Pilou Asbæk.
The final movie trailer tells the story of what we will see when we go to the movie. I like the style of the music and attitude of the overall theme.
The movie trailer shows several Americans parachuting into German territory and confronting a Nazi experimental lab gone gruesome and horrific. The poster adds to the several parachuting with the parachutes in blood red.
Directed by Joel Edgerton, Boy Erased is based on a memoir of a teenage boy whose parents encouraged him to attend a gay-deprogramming through a Christian-sponsored program.
The movie stars some hefty actors like Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe and Oscar-nominated Lucas Hedges. Openly gay singer and songwriter Troye Sivan plays one attendee of the church-sponsored program. In the trailer, Sivan appears to keep up with the other talented actors, and I am happy for him.
The movie isn’t about being gay and accepting homosexuality. It’s about accepting your child or people. Parents can mold their children into being what they want to be. I know it is cliche, but parents have to accept who their children are and love them unconditionally.
This isn’t an anti-religion movie because, truly, it is about loving and caring for people and letting people be who they are.
Directed by Harold Cronk, Unbroken: Path to Redemption follows Louis Zamperini, played by Samuel Hunt, as he returns home after undergoing a plane crash, weeks of floating on a makeshift raft in the Pacific, and then years of torture as a prisoner of war.
Angelina Jolie directed Unbroken, a movie about Zamperini’s hardship before returning home. The Coen brothers wrote the script for Unbroken.
They based the movie on Laura Hillenbrand’s bestselling book of the same name. The story begins where the popular movie Unbroken concludes. Still, Zamperini’s story must be told because nightmares of his torment haunted him. Zamperini does not see himself as a hero.
He battles with anger and alcohol abuse. He senses an obligation to go on the Army tour and raise money for War Bonds. Instead, he spends more time in bars than selling War Bonds.
They sent Zamperini to the beaches of Miami for some R&R. He meets Cynthia, played by Merritt Patterson, a young woman who captures his eye—and his heart. They marry and move to Los Angeles.
Nothing goes well with the Zamperini’s marriage and they are heading for a divorce when Cynthia attends Billy Graham’s 1949 Los Angeles Crusade where she finds faith in God and a renewed commitment to her marriage and her husband. Now, her most fervent prayer is for God to help her husband. She prays he finds peace and forgiveness. His grandson, Will Graham, plays Graham.
The screenplay is co-written by Richard Friedenberg and Ken Hixon. Cronk has directed several other faith-based movies. The cast rounds out with David Sakurai and Gary Cole.
The movie clips below are really good. I am impressed.
The movie clip is intense, and it’s like the viewer is right there with him.
The featurette offers details about the making or Switchfoot and the creation of this song “You Found Me” for the movie.
The movie trailer tells the story, and it is easy to guess how it ends if you saw the first movie directed by Jolie.
Directed by Gregory Plotkin,Hell Fest follows three teenagers, played by Amy Forsyth, Reign Edwards, and Taylor-Klaus, into a Hell Fest. There is an urban legend about a teenage girl being killed last year at Hell Fest, which is a strong foreshadowing.
As the movie plays out and verified by the movie trailer, someone in the fest is killing the teenagers. Security and others are saying it’s part of the fest.
Gale Anne Hurd is a legend as a producer. She brought us cutting-edge movies like The Terminator. The vignette of you talking about Hell Fest is super. Enjoy!
The poster below shows the characters with the focus on the lead, Forsyth, someone the audience can focus on even though the movie has an ensemble cast.
The next poster shows the theme park barker to the left. He is an interesting character, and the actor who plays him sees him as a pirate who wears things he collects.
Here is the 80s Trailer the studio produced for promoting the movie. I like it. I’d love to see this style come back to movie trailers. They are so simple and easy to follow because it tells you what the movie is about not the whole story. The narration is awesome, too.
Directed by Brad Furman, City of Lies, based on an authentic story, stars Johnny Depp as Russell Poole and Forest Whitaker as Jack Jackson. The movie follows Poole and Jackson as they investigate the murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious BIG spark.
The screenplay is by Christian Contreras, who adapted the story from Randall Sullivan’s non-fiction book. Contreras also wrote the script for Zero Dark Thirty.
Furman is best known for directing The Lincoln Lawyer, and the movie trailer shows a tight and well-crafted movie.
Co-written and directed by Wash Westmoreland, Colette follows Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, played by Keira Knightley, after marrying a successful Parisian writer Willy, played by Dominic West, is transplanted from her where she grew up in rural France to the scholarly and artistic richness of Paris.
Shorty, Willy persuades Colette to ghostwrite for him. She writes a semi-autobiographical novel about a witty and gutsy country girl named Claudine. The book becomes a trending bestseller and a cultural inspiring story.
After its success, Colette and Willy become the talk of Paris and their adventures inspire additional Claudine novels. Colette’s fight over creative ownership and gender roles drives her to overcome societal constraints, revolutionizing literature, fashion, and sexual expression.
Richard Glatzer and Rebecca Lenkiewicz also contributed to the screenplay. Westmoreland is known for directing Still Alice, which won Julianne Moore several international awards.
The movie is about real people and their relationship with the story. The second trailer shows more of the movie and the sexual innuendoes of one of the most famous books in the world at the time.
Directed by Ari Sandel, kids are going to have a tree on Halloween. Goosebumps comes alive once again in a brand-new comedy adventure based on R.L. Stine’s 400-million-selling series of books.
The screenplay is by Rob Lieber who also wrote Alexander the Terrible and Peter Rabbit.
The cast includes Wendi McLendon-Covey, Madison Iseman, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Caleel Harris, Chris Parnell, and Ken Jeong.
The second poster colors are much better. The lettering is on the bottom of the poster. Otherwise, both posters are almost similar.
