“Gretel & Hansel” Taste of Horror Trailer, Posters, Featurette

A foggy evening in the autumn forest

Written by Rob Hayes and directed by Osgood Perkins, Gretel & Hansel is not the fairytale we are familiar with but rather a horror movie.

The movie follows a young girl, played by Sophia Lillis, who leads her little brother, played by Sammy Leakey, into a dark, ominous forest. Like a long time ago in a distant fairytale countryside story, the brother and sister are in desperate search of food and work, only to stumble upon the very core of terrifying evil.

Get scared watching Gretel and Hansel.

Perkins is also a writer and an actor who played a minor role in Legally Blonde. He is the son of actor Anthony Perkins of Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho.

Gretel & Hansel also stars Charles Babalola, Alice Krige, and Jessica De Gouw.

The featurette discusses how fairy tales are scary.

“Cyrano, My Love” Poster and Trailer

Directed by Alexis Michalik, Cyrano, My Love is a French film in English subtitles. The story begins in December 1897, Paris. Edmond Rostand, played by Thomas Solivérès, is not yet thirty but already has two children and too much anxiety.

He has not written anything for two years. In desperation, he offers the great Constant Coquelin, played by Olivier Gourmet, a new play, a heroic comedy, in verse, for the holidays.

One thing though, a problem: it is not written yet. Ignoring the whims of actresses, the demands of his producers, the jealousy of his wife, the stories of his best friend’s heart and the lack of enthusiasm of all those around him, Edmond must focus and put to pen to paper. For now, he has only the title: “Cyrano de Bergerac.”

The movie looks and sounds a lot like 1998 Oscar winner Shakespeare in Love directed by
John Madden, starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Joseph Fiennes, and Geoffrey Rush. Shakespeare writes Romeo & Juliet while handling the demands of the theater owner and falling in love with Viola, who becomes his muse.

“The Aeronauts” Posters, Clips & Trailers

The movie takes place in England.

Directed by Tom Harper, The Aeronauts takes place in 1862 and originates from actual events in history. Harper wrote the story with Jack Thorne, and Thorne penned the screenplay from their collaboration. The word “aeronauts” is a dated word meaning “a traveler in a hot-air balloon, airship, or other flying craft.”

In this case, the movie follows the fictional character, daredevil balloon pilot Amelia Wren, played by Felicity Jones. She teams up with real-life pioneering meteorologist James Glaisher, played by Eddie Redmayne, to advance human knowledge of the weather and fly higher than anyone in history.

The story comes from Henry Coxwell and James Glaisher September 5, 1862, hot air balloon flight of the British aeronauts where they broke the world flight altitude record at the time, reaching about 11,887.

Wren replaces Coxwell, and she is a combination of Coxwell and real-life women who were aeronauts, including Sophie Blanchard, Margaret Graham, and Amelia Earhart. Jones told Walter Scott during an interview for Parade that Sophie Blanchard, an extraordinary aeronaut, inspire the character. She was one of the first women to fly solo in a balloon. Blanchard was a fantastic character who set fireworks off from the basket. She’s an inspiration for Amelia Wren, the role she plays.

While breaking records and advancing scientific discovery, their voyage to the very edge of existence helps the unlikely pair find their place in the world they have left far below them. But they face physical and emotional challenges in the thin air, as the ascent becomes a fight for survival.

The second trailer tells of the mystical adventure of two people climbing higher and higher into thin air.

The next two clips so how the production creates an intensity in the story. I am not sure about this movie yet, but happy to see it will be on Amazon Prime.

“Jexi” Trailers, Clips & Posters

This is a stupid and silly movie.

Written and directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, Jexi is a comedy that follows Phil, played by Adam Devine, who is in love with his phone. The movie is about the ramifications of what can happen when you love your phone more than anything else in your life.

Lucas and Moore brought us the two Bad Moms movies and wrote The Hangover, so this movie is gross and disgusting. It also stars Rose Byrne and Michael Pena. Enjoy the Redband trailer.

The second trailer is much better than the red band trailer.

The movie is off-kilter, and I am not impressed with the movie clips. I get the analogy of cell phones controlling your life and interfering with personal relationships.

“The Report” Posters, Clips & Trailers

Based on a true story that made headlines.

Written and directed by Scott Z. Burns, The Report story played out on the headlines and newscasters had a field day with the conspiracy behind the expose of the evil, brutality at CIA’s Detention Center and Interrogation Program. The movie is a far cry from A Few Good Men.

The Report is a gripping thriller based on actual events. Naive and unrealistic staffer Daniel J. Jones, played by Adam Driver, is tasked by his boss Senator Dianne Feinstein, played by Annette Bening, to lead an investigation of the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Program, which developed from the aftermath of 9/11.

Jones’ unremitting pursuit of the truth leads to dangerous findings that uncover the lengths to which the nation’s top intelligence agency went to suppress evidence, subvert the law, and hide a brutal secret from the American public.

The next trailer shows a pretty hard subject to explain in a matter of two hours.

The next six clips show what this man went through to get to the truth of what happened during the CIA’s interrogations of potential terrorists. Driver is so good at conveying the feeling that maybe all his work will be for not.

Powerful Faith-Based “I Still Believe” Poster, Clips, Trailer

Faith can lead you to hope.

Directed by Andrew and Jon Erwin, I Still Believe, a faith-based movie follows the true-life story of Christian music star Jeremy Camp.

watch the powerful, faith-based movie about love forever

The tearjerker story follows Camp’s journey of love and loss that looks to prove there is always hope as long as you still believe in God.

Erwin brothers’ last Christian movie I Can Only Imagine did well at the box office for a faith-based film winning the 2018 GMA Dove Award for Inspirational Film of the Year.

The movie clip is simple but shows the love and support Camp received from his family.

Monumental Revenge “Bombshell” Posters, Clips & Trailers

kidman, robbie, theron

Directed by Jay Roach, Bombshell focuses on the stories of multiple female Fox News employees. If you like following the headlines, then you should know about this story.

The movie follows three females, Megyn Kelly, Gretchen Carlson, and Kayla Pospisil, played by Charlize Theron, Nichole Kidman, and Margot Robbie, respectively. The movie focuses on their altercations with founder Roger Ailes, played by John Lithgow

The Blu-ray and DVD are available on Amazon, or you can stream it on your device as well.

Kate McKinnon, Malcolm McDowell, and Allison Janney also star in the movie written by Charles Randolph.

The casting is explosive, and the movie explains what the headlines failed to tell us correctly.

The next three movie clips are entertaining and heartfelt with a bit of wit and sarcasm.

The next clip is Lithgow as Roger Ailes, and he resonates as the news mogul.

Unusual Secrets Edge Horrific “Antlers” Posters and Trailers

Directed by Scott Cooper, Antlers is a horror movie beyond horror movies. In a small-town Oregon, the story follows a young boy, played by Jeremy T. Thomas, who is creepy when he reads his story to his teacher, Keri Russell.

His story is so diabolical that it is undeniably evil and insane. The teacher’s brother is a sheriff, played by Jesse Plemons, and together they investigate the possible horrors within this boy’s life.

The teacher and her brother discover that the boy is harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences relating to ancestral spirits of some kind.

Guillermo Del Toro is one of the producers of the movie. Based on the short story The Quiet Boy by Nick Antosca, the screenplay by Henry Chaisson and Nick Antosca with revisions by Cooper.

“I couldn’t be more excited to begin production on Antlers with Guillermo Del Toro, and reunite with my dear friends at Fox Searchlight,” said Cooper. “They’re incredible filmmakers – not to mention necessary filmmakers – and are extremely passionate and supportive of my vision as I venture into yet another genre, and delve into the unnerving world of ancestral spirits.”

The second trailer is creepy without telling us anything about the storyline.

The third trailer is a redband trailer, but it doesn’t seem that gross or disgusting.

“Underwater” Terrifying and Horrific Trailer, Clips, Poster

Kristen Stewart is trapped 7 miles below the surface.

Directed by William Eubank, the studios promote Underwater as being about “a crew of underwater researchers must scramble to safety after an earthquake devastates their subterranean laboratory.”

Now, that is far from what is in the movie trailer. The poster says, “…something has awakened.” Horror best describes this movie starring Kristen Stewart, T.J. Miller, Vincent Cassel, John Gallagher Jr., Jessica Henwick, Mamoudou Athie, and Gunner Wright.

The movie is available on Blu-ray, DVD, or streaming.

Eubank started his film career as a second unit director and cinematographer. Now, he is a director, including the movies The Signal and Love, which won an award for Athens International Film Festival Best Director as well as Motion Picture Sound Editors, USA sound editing – direct to video.

Gunner Wright starred in Love about an astronaut in continuous orbit around Earth, out of communication with Houston, doing maintenance, reading old messages, and reading a journal from Civil War veteran.

Stewart looks good in the trailer donning a bra and short blonde hair. She is the focus of the story. A story that is not delineated by the studios yet. It looks terrifying and was shot well by Eubank.

The following clips show they are in deep trouble, and there is no safe way out of the situation.
