“The Throwback” Poster and Images

Mario Garcia wrote and directed The Throwback, a comedy that chronicles the lives of Kate, played by Justina Machado, and Matt Morgan, played by Will Sasso. They are a middle-aged couple deeply engrossed in raising their kids, Zach and Jordy, while entangled in the web of monotonous routines and personal stagnation.

Yet, amidst their dead-end careers, scheduled intimacy, health troubles, and midlife challenges, the most unexpected upheaval strikes when Kate experiences a post-traumatic breakdown after a bank robbery, thrusting her back to her college years with no recollection of the past 26 years.

Kate experiences a post-traumatic breakdown after a bank robbery, thrusting her back to her college years with no recollection of the past 26.

As Matt steps up to navigate household duties and school volunteering, Kate grapples with the fact that she’s a 19-year-old in a 45-year-old body, discovering that nostalgic Daisy Duke shorts no longer fit, cardio fails to work its magic, and trading a new minivan for a ’92 Mustang convertible is far from a game changer. Amidst the chaos, Kate’s reawakened libido resurrects her and Matt’s dormant sexual spark.

Will Kate’s new awakening keep her family and husband from supporting her, or will she come to terms with her true identity?

“Immaculate” With Sydney Sweeney Poster and Images

Sister Cecilia, played by Sydney Sweeney, is an American nun of devout faith. She embarks on a new journey in a remote convent in the picturesque Italian countryside. Cecilia’s warm welcome quickly devolves into a nightmare as it becomes clear her new home harbors a sinister secret and unspeakable horrors.

Michael Mohan read a text message, “Interested in directing a horror film?” from Sweeney, a close collaborator and the driving force behind her production company, Fifty-Fifty Films. “…plunged me into what would become the most electrifying project of my career.”

Immaculate
Amazon will soon have the horror film available to stream or on Blu-ray.

Mohan describes his directorial intention: “And the story’s culmination, which I will only hint at here, is intended to leave audiences breathless, inviting introspection without prescribing answers—all unfolding within a tight 89 minutes.”

Collaborating on this film wasn’t just the greatest honor of my life; it was a chance to make something that could stand the test of time. My hope is that Immaculate feels like the ultimate rollercoaster ride, leaving you haunted, introspective, and beautifully traumatized,” concludes Mohan.

Immaculate is a horror movie.

The supporting cast includes Álvaro Morte, Simona Tabasco, and Benedetta Porcaroli.

“Frida” Documentary Poster and Images

Ron Howard and his producing buddy Brian Grazer bring us an intimate, raw, and magical journey through the life, mind, and heart of iconic artist Frida Kahlo. Frida is told through her own words for the first time, drawn from her famed illustrated diary, revealing letters, essays, and candid print interviews — and brought vividly to life by lyrical animation inspired by her unforgettable artwork. The feature-film directorial debut of acclaimed editor Carla Gutiérrez, Frida posits a striking context for why the artist—and her art—remains as powerful as ever.

Howard directed the documentary about legendary opera singer Luciano Pavarotti, and he’s continued the genre as a producer.

Spanning over 40 years of her life, the filmmakers received unrestricted access to research materials that had never been shown to the public before. What is extraordinary about Kahlo’s life and art is how her images would galvanize multiple generations of admirers worldwide, doing more than solidifying her status as a modern artist of timeless import.

In an intensive two-year journey, Gutiérrez and her formidable team of artisans, primarily women and proudly Latine, gathered together to craft a singular cinematic experience that could be no ordinary art history lesson. A living portrait emboldened by the magical realism befitting Kahlo’s remarkable life emerges. Yet, her voice ultimately stands supreme, a complex and powerful sound of many Fridas: fearless, seductive, defiant, vulnerable, raucous, and wonderfully alive.

“The Idea of You” a Netflix Winner

Based on the acclaimed, contemporary love story of the same name, The Idea of You follows Solène, played by Anne Hathaway. She’s a 40-year-old single mom who begins an unexpected romance with 24-year-old Hayes Campbell, played by Nicholas Galitzine. He’s the lead singer of August Moon, the hottest boy band on the planet.

When Solène must step in to chaperone her teenage daughter’s trip to the Coachella Music Festival after her ex bails at the last minute, she has a chance encounter with Hayes.

There is an instant, noticeable and undeniable spark. As they begin a whirlwind romance, it isn’t long before Hayes’s superstar status poses unavoidable challenges to their relationship.

Solène soon discovers that life in the glare of his spotlight might be more than she bargained for.

Michael Showalter directs, and the cast includes Ella Rubin, Annie Mumolo, Reid Scott, Perry Mattfeld, Jordan Aaron Hall, Mathilda Gianopoulos, Meg Millidge, Raymond Cham Jr., Jaiden Anthony, Viktor White, and Dakota Adan.

If you read the book and watch the movie, you’ll see that the movie doesn’t follow the book. According to the book, Hayes is 19, and Solène’s daughter is 12 or 13. The movie has them both older. The ending smoulders better because it’s not so final.

Showalter has an impressive list of films he’s directed:

“The Wild Robot” Lupita Nyong’o as Robot Roz, Pedro Pascal as Fox Fink

From DreamWorks Animation comes a new adaptation of a literary sensation: Peter Brown’s beloved, award-winning, and #1 New York Times bestseller The Wild Robot.

The epic adventure parallels Hayao Miyazaki’s storytelling without the Japanese filmmaker’s artistic, non-AI quality.

Chris Sanders wrote and directed the film, which follows the journey of a robot—ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short.

The robot crashes on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to its harsh surroundings. Gradually, he builds relationships with the island’s animals and becomes the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.

The Wild Robot stars Lupita Nyong’o as robot Roz, Pedro Pascal as fox Fink, the late Catherine O’Hara as opossum Pinktail, Bill Nighy as goose Longneck, Kit Connor as gosling Brightbill and Stephanie Hsu as Vontra, a robot that will intersect with Roz’s life on the island.

The film also features the voice talents of Mark Hamill, Matt Berry, and Ving Rhames.

It’s a powerful story about the discovery of self, a thrilling examination of the bridge between technology and nature and a moving exploration of what it means to be alive and connected to all living things.

“Música” Storyline, Poster and Image

An untraditional romantic comedy that moves at an infectious beat, Música stars Rudy Mancuso, who based the film on his own experiences and serves as the film’s director, co-writer, composer and choreographer.

Rudy Mancuso, a charismatic yet directionless young street performer from Newark’s Ironbound neighborhood, has a unique perspective on the world. Thanks to a rare condition called synesthesia, he experiences everyday noises—from car horns to water droplets to doors slamming—as a series of complex rhythms. He struggles to keep the music in his head at bay, but it’s not so easily accomplished.

When he’s not taking classes to finish his college degree or staging puppet performances for commuters on the streets of Ironbound’s close-knit Brazilian community, Rudy is trying to convince his girlfriend, Haley, played by Francesca Reale, that he will eventually figure things out. He lives with his mother, Maria, played by the actor’s real-life mother, Maria Mancuso, who wants her son to dump Haley and settle down with a lovely Brazilian girl from the neighborhood. Rudy also gets advice on life and love from his best friend, Anwar, played by J. B. Smoove, a food truck operator whose cultural identity morphs depending on where he parks his truck that day.

Matters take a turn for the chaotic when a flying piece of frozen fish knocks out Rudy. The accident leads to an encounter with Isabella, played by Camila Mendes, a beautiful young Brazilian woman who works at the local fish market and may understand Rudy in ways no one has before. In a love triangle, Rudy tries to balance his cultural heritage, the women in his life, and the música inside his head.
