Den of Thieves Trailer

Directed by Christian Gudegast, Den of Thieves stars Gerard Butler as corrupted cop Nick  Flanagan. The movie follows Flanagan as he and an elite group of crooks try and steal $120 million dollars from the Los Angles Federal Reserve.

This movie looks like a typical shoot ’em up with the bad guys against the good guys for the common good of making things go right.  The movie also stars Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Pablo Schreiber, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Evan Jones, Dawn Olivieri, Mo McRae, and UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway.

Overboard Trailer

Co-written and directed by Rob Greenberg, Overboard follows Leonardo,  played by Eugenio Derbez, a selfish, spoiled, rich playboy from Mexico’s richest family and Kate, played by Anna Faris,  a working-class single mother of three hired to clean Leonardo’s luxury yacht.

Leonardo unjustly fires Kate and refuses to pay her. He falls overboard when partying too hard and wakes up on the Oregon coast with amnesia. Kate shows up at the hospital and, to get payback, convinces Leonardo he is her husband and puts him to work – for the first time in his life.

At first miserable and inept, Leonardo slowly settles in. Eventually, he earns the respect of his new family and co-workers. But, with Leonardo’s billionaire family hot on their trail and the possibility of his memory returning at any moment, makes for a fun and entertaining movie.

Watch the trailer and get a sense of the old Hollywood movies where the audience is in on the gag.

Written and directed by Ol Parker, Mama Mia! Here We Go Again brings us Meryl Streep as Donna, Julie Walters as Rosie and Christine Baranski as Tanya, Amanda Seyfried, and Dominic Cooper reunite as Sophie and Sky, while Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgård, and  Colin Firth return to play Sophie’s three possible dads: Sam, Bill, and Harry.

The film goes back and forth in time to show how relationships forged in the past resonate in the present, the newest cast member from Downton Abby, Lily James will play the role of Young Donna. Filling the roles of Young Rosie and Young Tanya are Alexa Davies and Jessica Keenan Wynn. Young Sam will be played by Jeremy Irvine, while Young Bill is played by Josh Dylan and Young Harry is played by Hugh Skinner.

The below clip is about the production wrapping up and letting us know when the sequel will be in the movie theaters.

This trailer has a special appearance by Cher. Guess who she plays in the story?

Every Day Trailer from Bestseller

Directed by Michael Sucsy, Every Day is based on a bestseller by David Levithan. The movie follows Rhiannon, played by Angourie Rice, a 16-year old girl who falls in love with a mysterious spirit named “A” who inhabits a different body every day.

Feeling an unmatched connection, Rhiannon and “A” work each day to find each other, not knowing what or who the next day will bring. The more the two fall in love, the more the realities of loving someone who is a different person every 24 hours takes a toll, leaving Rhiannon and “A” to face the hardest decision either has ever had to make.

The movie also stars Maria Bello. I’ve liked her work since History of Violence.

The movie trailer is inspirational and gets under my skin.

Her first stop is to assemble the perfect crew: Lou, Rose, Daphne Kluger, Nine Ball, Tammy, Amita, and Constance. These roles are played part and parcel by Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, and Dakota Fanning in an undisclosed role.

Sicario: 2 Soldado Trailer

Josh Brolin stars in SICARIO 2: SOLDADO.

Directed by Stefano Sollima, Sicario 2:  Soldado follows the drug war on the US-Mexico border has escalated as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border. To fight the war, federal agent Matt Graver re-teams with the mercurial Alejandro. The movie stars Josh BrolinBenicio Del Toro, and Matthew Modine.

The studio has not released a poster but there are images available.  I posted one with Josh Brolin.

I like the original movie with Emly Blunt, though the ending was empty with platitudes. Still, Blunt did a great job. I will continue to enjoy her movies.

Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dog Trailer

Directed and written by Wes Anderson, Isle of Dog looks hilarious with tons of fun to watch over and over again. The trailer is fantastic and I am still laughing.

The story is so cool, which takes place in the future, an outbreak of canine flu leads the mayor of a Japanese city to banish all dogs to an island that’s a garbage dump. The outcasts must soon embark on an epic journey when a 12-year-old boy arrives on the island to find his beloved pet.

Do you recognize those voices? They are Anderson’s cohorts including Ed Norton and Bill Murray with

Bryan Cranston, Jeff Goldblum, Ken Watanabe, Greta Gerwig, Frances McDormand, Courtney B. Vance, Fisher Stevens, Harvey Keitel, Liev Schreiber, Scarlett Johansson, and Tilda Swinton.

Mortal Engines Trailer

Peter Jackson is attached to this production as one of the producers. Yet, directed by Christian Rivers, Mortal Engines follows Tom Natsworthy, played by Robert Sheehan, after thousands of years civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved.

This new way is very science fiction with a twist of fantasy. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Natsworthy comes forth from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London. The movie finds him fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw, played by Iceland actress Hera Hilmar.  Both are completely opposite in views and purposes, but their paths crossed anyway. They build an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.

Mortal Engines is adapted from the award-winning book series by Philip Reeve, published in 2001 by Scholastic.

The trailer doesn’t offer much of the movie, but it focuses on Shaw – a female character instead of a male character like Natsworthy. I wonder if it is because Universal understands the importance of celebrating the female role in Hollywood.

Winchester Trailer

Directed by the Spierig brothers, Winchester looks like a fancy horror story that is true. The movie follows Sarah Winchester, played by Oscar winner Helen Mirren, who lives on an isolated stretch of land 50 miles outside of San Francisco where the most haunted house in the world is built. Sarah Winchester is the heiress to the Winchester fortune from the famous Winchester rifles, and she continues to build her house 24/7. A true mania that lasts for decades.

But Sarah is not building for herself, for her niece, played by Sarah Snook or for the troubled Doctor Eric Price, played by Jason Clarke, whom she has summoned to the house. She is building a prison, an asylum for hundreds of vengeful ghosts, and the most terrifying among them have a score to settle with the Winchesters.

The Winchester house is a well-known tourist attraction. Even though I live in Northern California, I have never visited this house but friends have told me about it, and I have seen the billboards around Interstate 80 promoting the Winchester House as a mysterious home, nothing about it being haunted.

The trailer shows a horror movie at its best. This will be a fun movie to watch, especially with Mirren in the starring role.

The Miracle Season Trailer

Take a look at who is starring in this movie. Oscar winners William Hurt and Helen Hunt are fantastic as a parent of a tragic death and a coach who must pull her champion team together and maintain a winning streak, unlike any other volleyball team.

Directed by  Sean McNamara, The Miracle Season follows a champion volleyball team that lost their star player to a tragic auto accident. The town, school, and team go through the process of snapping back to determining winners.

With such an awesome cast, I am sure this movie will not go unnoticed. The ending is predictable but still, it will be fun to watch as long as it doesn’t get too mushy.  Watch the trailer and see for yourself.
